  I had a great experience with this hospital. Everything worked smoothly and fast, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The doctor spoke good English and I got my prescription in English.

  My big toenail was partially torn in Cambodia, where a doctor removed the rest of it and dressed the wound. It was the single most painful experience of my life. They told me that when I got to Vietnam, the next stop on my travel list, I should have the dressing changed a and the wound cleaned. After a 12 hour trip from Sihanoukville to Can Tho, I had also developed an unrelated ear infection. I went to this general hospital, where I told them that I needed treatment for an ear infection and that I was advised to have my toenail bed cleaned and the dressing changed. They would do nothing for the ear infection and told me to return the next day. No examination, no medicine. The worst part was when the male nurse in charge of changing my dressing, removed it with with an almost aggression, while I writhed in pain. Then, with the bed of my toenail again bleeding, and without cleaning it at all, he wrapped it in a single piece of gauze, taped it with a single piece of tape, and pressed firmly on the nail bed with his thumb as though he was stapling a rather thick piece of paper, and my toe was the stapler. They said I could leave and return the following day. Out in the streets, following a rainy day, puddles of dirty water were everywhere, and I hadn't made it twenty steps outside the hospital before my new bandage began falling off! I have had many minor as well as serious injuries requiring medical treatment in the past, and this was by far the wits care I have ever received. Even the Chinese doctor in Cambodia who didn't wait until the local anesthesia had done it's work before yanking my toenail out like a stripped screw took more care than this lot. As a side note, the place was full of medical students who apologized afterward for not being able to help me. They recommended I go to a different hospital the next day, which I did, where I got the care that I needed. The name of that hospital is Bệnh Viện Hoàn Mỹ Cửu Long.
