  Upon my return to Can Tho from Vi Tranh & Ca Mau I decided to try Riverside 1 Hotel, especially considering the rate I got through Booking.com (which included breakfast) of AUD21 per night for 3x nights. The hotel was so good I extended my stay for an additional two more nights. The other factor that made my decision easy is that they are pet friendly, at no additional charges. Apart from the location which was not as convenient as my last hotel I stayed at in Can Tho, the place was faultless. In saying that, the location isn't bad and everything needed was still within an easy 5-15 minutes stroll. I did also discover a nearby really, nice and cheap Vietnamese cuisine restaurant which I would not have discovered if I didn't stay at the Riverside 1 Hotel. (NB: The hotel does have a limited room service menu for food and beverages...and Grab does service this area.) The hotel is really clean and new looking, with a very presentable lobby/reception area and all the staff are truly helpful, very friendly and honestly welcoming to their guests. Next to the lobby is a small, indoors area to park motorbikes and out the front is a parking section for about 4-5 cars. Inside the lobby there us an elevator that services the accommodation floors. My air-conditioned room was extremely conformable, impeccably clean and both very well equipped and furnished....much more than I expected for the price. The bed was soft, very comfortable and fitted with high quality sheets, doona and pillows....a delight to sleep in. The room featured; 1x padded sofa couch, 1x bedside table (with drawers and a lamp) 1x small, circular glass top table 1x padded circular stool 1x bench top with a desk area and an enclosure which contained a small refrigerator (that worked well), plus a telephone. 1x flatscreen TV (which had the Netflix app) 1x inbuilt wardrobe (with electronic safe) The room also contained a kettle, hair dryer and complimentary water, tea & coffee. The private bathroom, like the room, was very clean and new looking. It had a shower cubicle with an excellent supply of hot water, a toilet and a wash basin. All the fittings and shelves were modern and the towels were of a high quality. To say the least, I was extremely surprised on how nice the room and the bathroom were...it made for an excellent extended stay. Had it not been for the fact that I had experienced much of what Can Tho had to offer I could've easily stayed at this divine hotel much longer. The hotel also provides free WiFi with a strong and constant signal throughout their property. Even though the hotel is located next door to two Karaoke establishments the soundproofing was considerably good and only very low bass sounds could be heard. These audible sounds were not loud and could only just be heard (certainly not enough to cause disruptions or sleeping issues). My rate included a daily breakfast. However, I'm not really a morning person and I only managed to go down to ear breakfast twice. The first instance it was only a modest selection that you had to order (Vietnamese cuisine). The second instance was a buffet offering (again, only Vietnamese cuisine), but included several choices. The only slight issue was that I arrived towards the end of the breakfast hours and some of the selections had been depleted. Remember, this is not a 5 star resort hotel that keeps pumping out food until closure, so I accept that they have limitations (ie. cost factors to consider) to how much food they can waste. In my opinion, the breakfast buffet was above and beyond what I had expected....and if I wanted more choices I should have gotten down to the restaurant earlier. However, some people might not be so accepting, so if you're expecting a complete spread get down there early. (Noteworthy, if the occupancy of the hotel is low then the breakfast will only be the modest a'la carte type). Overall, and for me, this was a tremendously enjoyable stay and an absolute bargain for the price....and no complaints.

  Overall rating: 5/5 stars Pros: Excellent service: The staff at the Riverside Hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Best location: The hotel is located in a central location, within walking distance of many of the city's main attractions. Modern hotel: The hotel is modern and stylish, with comfortable rooms and excellent amenities. Shout out to the following staff: Mei the supervisor: Mei was always available to answer my questions and help me with anything I needed. She made me feel welcome and special, and I really appreciated her attention to detail. Art and Larthid (reception): Art and Larthid were always cheerful and efficient at the front desk. They made sure I had everything I needed and were always happy to help with recommendations for things to do in the city. Van (security): Van was always friendly and helpful at the security desk. He made me feel safe and secure during my stay. Overall, I would highly recommend the Riverside Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, modern, and well-located hotel in Vientiane. The service is excellent, the location is great, and the hotel is simply stunning.

  Very nice hotel. Clean room and bathroom. Good WiFi and TV with Netflix. A few loud karaoke places nearby but we were exhausted from intensive days and it did not bother us too much. Breakfast is an Asian style buffet, so do not expect anything sweet. Location is not in the city centre exactly, but you can grab taxis for 40.000 VND one way (less than 2 dollars, about 5 minutes drive). As the room price is very good value for money, this is absolutely fine. Big thank you to the ladies/ gents at reception who helped us add 1 more night to our stay, and book a FUTA bus to our next destination (with transfer from the hotel ti the bus station).

  Good rooms for a short budget trip. Nightclubs nearby are noisy. Great breakfast and the staff are friendly.

  The room is fine, not perfect but not dirty. The bed sheets had black marks, and the towels didn't smell fresh. The biggest issue for me was the smoking. I got a huge headache after I got my room and it had heavy smoking smell. My husband walked around the floor and he saw many cigarettes 🚬 ashtrays. After we informed the staff, they sent someone up to spray the room. But of course, it could never change my impression about the place. Recommendation for the owner: Need to change all the bed sheets to be more clean. Black marks really decrease the comfort level. Maybe making a smoking room separately, not at the end of the hall way as the breeze can spread the smell. Towels should be clean. Very gross smell when we used them. On the plus side, the staff are very responsive and friendly. The room is bright and it provides you enough essential stuff. Great location.

  Its a rather cheap hotel with a good breakfast provided. It can be noisy at night because the area around is more a nightlife district. Rooms are maybe not perfect but clean and decent. The service was excellent though. Very attentive to our needs. Be aware that most of the rooms have no window and you have to ask for by paying a little more.

  This is a terrible hotel. All of the 5 star reviews are local tour guides rating it 5 star to make the rating of this hotel go up. The rooms are disgusting, dirty smelly. We have changed rooms 3 times and is still not happy. The rooms smells like cigarettes and the fridge and shower/bathroom has mould everywhere, the floors was dirty and so was the bedding. We got this hotel through the tour we book and this is not acceptable. What a scam!
