  We booked a Cai Rang Floating Market tour with Mekong Experience Tours and had a fantastic experience. Our guide, Jimmy, was friendly and very knowledgeable. As part of the tour, we were also able to be picked up by boat from our lodge at 6am (which was a 40 mins away from the centre of Can Tho). The tour was very authentic. We visited the floating market, had a delicious noodle breakfast on the boat, learned how rice noodles are traditionally made (and got to try making them ourselves), and tasted fresh dragon fruit and star apple from a local market garden. The places we visited gave us an insight on river life. What really stood out was how respectful Jimmy was of the floating market vendors. He explained that arriving too early would intrude on their private daily routines, and it was clear he cared about preserving their dignity. We also loved hearing Jimmy’s personal stories about growing up on the Mekong, how life there and the river ecosystem has changed over the years, and what life is like today. Hearing about his kids — who are the same age as ours — made the experience feel especially personal. Jimmy also runs a homestay, and after this tour, we’ll definitely be staying there next time. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a genuine, respectful, and memorable Mekong Delta experience.

  An absolutely perfect experience, one of the highlights of our trip! We did this Mekong one-day tour with our wonderful guide Jimmy, and it couldn’t have been better. From the very beginning, everything was smooth, authentic, and full of discoveries. We started early in the morning and went by small boat to the Cai Rang Floating Market, where locals actually trade their goods. Having breakfast right on the river was such a special moment, we got to taste delicious coconuts and see how vibrant the market is with plenty of boats selling fruits and local products. After that, we also visited the market next to the river with multiples products sold there. We then visited a local house to see how they make fresh rice noodles, which was really interesting. Then we had a beautiful walk through a vegetable garden, learning how locals grow their produce. The landscapes were peaceful, and people were smiling and kind everywhere we went. Next came one of our favorite parts, the bike ride through the countryside. We crossed small canals lined with water coconut trees, met farmers, and even saw a traditional blacksmith at work. We stopped to another local house where we made banana cake, easily one of the best cakes we’ve ever tried in Vietnam! And then later another local house where we learnt how to make “Banh Hoi Mat Vong” for lunch, the only place in Vietnam still making this kind of noodle, the food was delicious! The whole experience felt very genuine and immersive, not touristy at all. We met so many kind locals, and learned so much about daily Mekong life and the life in Vietnam thanks to Jimmy The homestay was also lovely, Jimmy’s family is so welcoming and kind, and everything was well organized, clean, and full of warmth. From start to finish, the tour was perfectly balanced between activities, relaxation, and cultural exchange. We couldn’t recommend it more to anyone visiting Can Tho. Thank you again Jimmy and your family for making our stay unforgettable, it was the best way to experience the real Mekong Delta life 🇻🇳✨ And also thank you for your restaurants recommandation, we discovered many great and delicious food!

  Highly recomended! Mr. Truong (nickname Jimmy), the leader of the tour, is The One. If you're planning to go there, he is your man. I have been there with my client several times already, and every time it was just better then the previous one. I love to come there to see the local life of Can Tho and Jimmy knows how to represent it. Besides the all local life and their culture, which is one of my best experiences in Vietnam, you can also enjoy the beautiful tropic nature. We were cycling, boating, walking, swimming in the pool, eating like a king, drinking, laughing and sweating. What else do you need? :D I highly recommend Jimmy and Mekong Experience Travel to be your host on Mekong Delta.

  We are from Hmong travel. We arrange tour for people from Croatia to see local life and culture of Vietnam. We have been with Mekong Experience travel many times to see the local life of Can Tho, it was spectacular with life on the water, hotel is warm and cozy, and Truong is always friendly and enthusiastic with his smile. Very good service, good experience. Totally worth visiting, highly recommend

  We had a wonderful time with Jimmy and his family. We slept in his homestay (Authentic homestay), and Jimmy showed us many different place to eat the delicious local food, plus some other activities like biking in the beautiful nature of the Mekong Delta. We absolutely recommend to stay here in Can Tho with Jimmy!
