I’ve had baba ganoush and bean soup for lunch. Quiet setting outside with the sea view and windy. Very attentive service. Food was delicious and freshly made. Good white wine by glasses.

The Secret Restaurant in Côn Đảo is one of those hidden gems you’re glad you discovered. Tucked away from the busier spots, it has a cozy, relaxed vibe that feels authentic and welcoming. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared — simple flavors done really well, with standout seafood and great local dishes. Service was warm and attentive and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. It’s the kind of place where you want to linger a little longer and just enjoy the island pace. If you’re visiting Côn Đảo and want a more intimate dining experience away from the crowds, The Secret Restaurant is worth exploring.

I was looking for a New Year’s Eve dinner spot after arriving to Con Dao and this place had high ratings so I decided to give it a try and boy am I glad that I did. They actually let me have a table even though they needed reservations and I the service was top notch—explaining of the menu, checking in throughout my meal and even took pictures for me as I was dining solo. I had a juice, ahi tuna, calamari and grilled fish, all tasty. I’d definitely come back here.

The Secret Restaurant is part of one of Con Dao’s fancier hotels along the promenade, and its terrace offers beautiful views over the deep blue sea and the sweeping bay. The menu features a fairly extensive range of international dishes, from dim sum to pizza, alongside more traditional Vietnamese fare. Food prices won’t break the bank, although the drinks are quite expensive, which is fair enough given the luxurious setting. It’s also one of the very few places in Vietnam where we were treated to an amuse-gueule, in this case baguette with pâté, which was a nice touch. Worth coming here just to enjoy the atmosphere, even if it’s only for coffee and cake.

This has to be one of the best restos in Con Dao island. Great vibes with good calm Western music with the gorgeous beach on the front. Good place to have your meal, wine or coffee at any time of the day. Good service. The waiter "Viet" was very accomodating. I just hope we got his name right. 😁 PRO TIP: They have reasonably-priced lunch set meals. We had steak and salmon - both of which were delicioso! 😋

Nice atmosphere looking at the beach and very friendly service. Unfortunately, the food itself was not that good for european standards. We had the tuna for appetizer which was pleasant. The burger and the steak however were disappointing.. especially looking at the price tag you would expect higher quality. The restaurant claims to be mediterranean but it is far away from it. What was nice tho was the presentation of the food.

Tuna steak was mid, nothing special to rave about. Wagyu was cooked to perfection, but seasoning was very lacking as it was only pepper (no salt). Mashed potatoes (no salt either) wasn't a good fit for the wagyu either. It seems they plate all meats the same (hubby had ribeye) and not customised. The portion for tiramisu was overwhelmingly small that I thought I ordered from a kids' menu. The wine was great. Service was OK, we had to wait a while before the waitress came over with an iPad though (they don't have the drinking menu physically). For the price we paid for, this was underwhelming to say the least. You can definitely get better service and have tastier dishes in *MANY* other places in Con Dao.
