Important place to visit - but for better context, visit the nearby museum first. They do a good job of explaining the context behind what is on display here. (Ticket from the museum will give you access here also) Note the lunchtime closing times (1130-1330)

Very sobering and impactful experience. The way they use realistic figures throughout the exhibits brings a powerful realization of the horrors experienced in this prison. A very sad bit of history.

A historical place filled with sadness, but sometimes you need to know the whole story to understand the hardship of colonisation, and Vietnam has been trough a lot

There are dolls of suffering prisoners in different areas of the prison, making it easy to imagine what it must have been like there 50 years ago. Takes an hour if you want to see every corner and read all signs. Well worth a visit.

An extraordinary museum bringing to life a a dark and brutal phase of the island's history tat should never be forgotten. Mannequins are alarmingly lifelike.

Very impressive tour and experience the sad history of vietman. That gives a lot of positive feelings from the sadness of how Vietnam's development. Keep a humble and hardworking mindset, Vietnam will be a prosperity and developed country. Absolutely

You should visit the museum first to buy a day pass for just 50k. The place itself is a complex of two camps, Phu Phong and Phu Tuong, which are similar to other prison camps. However, the main attraction here is the French Tiger Cages (must-visit) in Phu Tuong Camp. I wasn't in the mood for many pictures here; felt lost imagining the extent of what humans can do to each other.
