  I loved this hotel in Con Dao! Very nice staff, clean rooms, such comfortable beds! I booked a room with a balcony, other rooms might be less good. I love quiet areas so this was perfect, close enough to the center but quiet. Seconds from a great beach. Adequate soundproofing, although not the best, but this is pretty much the case in every hotel I’ve been to in Vietnam. I’ll definitely come back here again ❤️

  The hotel is new and modern, location is in the centre of Condao. Facilities are new and good. Room is clean and full amenities Ventilation is not as good as I can smell smoking smell when i got back to my room (maybe the smell came from the room next door)

  This is the first time I’m giving someone 1 star. The room I was given had no windows, however it was written in my booking, so that’s on me for not reading carefully. The building is renovated so it is better than any other hotels I have experienced in Vietnam. I booked 2 nights but due to window situation, I checked out after 1 night. I payed full amount on the first night. What triggered me was that the lady in reception kept picking up calls when I was checking out. She didn’t know that I paid, makes me question how they keep track of their bookings. She started counting the number of water bottles, I told her I only used 1, I even paid for that. Apparently, the phone calls were more important, 1 minute check out became 5 minutes. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is very nice but being service minded is something else.

  Very nice and clean hotel. We stayed here in three rooms with a view of the mountains. They are rooms with a modern bathroom. More beautiful than most hotels in Vietnam. There is a nice coffee shop on the corner of the hotel and the distance to the most beautiful beach of Con Dao is only a few minutes' walk away. Scooters to explore the island can be rented at the hotel itself. It is a special island. We will come back here this year and choose hotel Velar again.

  Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast setup depends on the number of guests staying at the hotel. Although the photos show a full buffet, during our stay it was a mix of roughly 50/50 à la carte and buffet options, which was still fine.There is a nearby location that plays quite loud music both in the mornings and at night, seemingly every day, so keep this in mind if you’re looking for a very quiet and relaxing place to stay.We stayed in a room with a beautiful mountain view, which we really enjoyed. The shower was spacious which is a bonus. Bed is super soft!We’d consider booking the same room again.

  We booked this hotel and since I’m relatively new to the platform, I reached out to the property via whatsapp before arrival to confirm the booking. From pre-arrival through our five-night stay, the experience was excellent.The owners, Linh and her husband, Lan, were incredibly supportive, responsive, and resourceful throughout our stay. Their hospitality truly made the experience special.We stayed in room 306 w/a mountain view. The view is lovely, though the room faces west and can get quite hot in the afternoon. That said, the blackout curtains helped. Housekeeping is provided daily like at 8 am which may be noticeable if you’re not an early riser, but they consistently replenish towels, coffee, and tea as needed.The hotel itself is quite new (around three years old) and has thoughtful details throughout—branded slippers and water bottles, a mini chill fridge with drinks, and ice available upon request. Water pressure was good, and Wi-Fi worked most of the time without issues.The front desk staff were helpful, and the hotel offers motorcycle and moped rentals. Since we didn’t have an international driver’s license, we rented a scooter for 150K VND per day. All transactions were cash-based. They also arranged airport pickup and drop-off for 50K VND per person each way, which was very convenient.Breakfast is available, either buffet or à la carte depending on occupancy. We’re not morning people, so we didn’t try it ourselves, but other guests shared positive feedback.The location is excellent—about a two-minute walk to the beach and very walkable overall.At the end of our stay, the owners surprised us with a thoughtful gift, which we will always cherish. A heartfelt thank you to Linh and Lan for making our stay so enjoyable.One note for future guests: there are several cats on the property, so if you have cat allergies, it’s something to be aware of.

  Excellent hotel. Everything is very new and to a very high standard. Every and each area is very clean and tidy, room is very spacious, mine was with mountain and sea view. Much higher standard than average hotel, with lovely music in n the background. Lovely meals, and perhaps most important for beach lovers, some 50 metres from the best and biggest beach on the island, yet all the other things are very near...Would definitely recommend it, and plan to return in few years time.
