Lovely, comfortable stay Liked · Very helpful, caring and friendly staff. The room was spacious, with ample natural light and a nice breeze. There was a jacuzzi in the room and had a separated toilet. The bed was comfortable. It's very close to restaurants (local and western cuisine) and shops and you can rent a motorbike from the reception. Short walk to the beach.

This is probably the most beautiful and unique hotel on Con Dao, with a superb central location close to the best authentic restaurants and a short walk to one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in Vietnam. It is a mix of Indochina luxury with an eco-nature feel. It was built using innovative architectural techniques that allow natural curves and artful details. This was our first time on Con Dao and at Nereus Hotel, and it's lovely hosts Thu and Lance made the whole experience very special and unforgettable. We were fortunate to have a room with a sunrise and ocean view on the 4th floor. It was clean, new, no expense was spared in building this beautiful hotel. When our shower broke, our host replaced it with a new one in hardly two hours. That is the level of service and attention they offer here. We were helped with rides, directions to places, and even getting flowers to take to the cemetery to pay tribute to the revolutionaries who were tortured and died on this island in the famous brutal jail system of Con Dao. Vietnam's history—its Gulag Archipelago—is here on Con Dao, and it is an absolute must-visit for anyone interested in Vietnamese history. We met someone else here from Canada who was staying for a month and already planning to return. It's a special, spiritual, quiet place to enjoy the unspoiled nature, get inspired, and feel restored. This is overall a rarely affordable luxury—a true secret on Con Dao. If there were a way to give more stars, I would do it wholeheartedly. A suggestion to book in advance. Places on the island are relatively sparse, and this hotel gets booked fast—for good reason. Thank you again so very much, Thu, Lance, and Danny, for creating this experience for us and others.

The staff is incredible and kind, and very flexible. Our room was spotless with great air conditioning. They also rented us a scooter for our whole stay for a very cheap rate ($6/day). We had to change our reservation and they were so helpful and flexible. Excellent location (near lovely restaurants and also a two-minute walk to the water and all snorkeling adventure boats!).

This was our first time to the Nereus hotel and a must visit! The view was beautiful. The room was always spotless. Staff were kind and attentive. The decor was lovely, especially the local artwork in the room with older scenery from the island. The hotel is located a couple blocks away from the ocean but our unit had an incredible view, especially in the mornings. A relaxing, slow paced atmosphere. I highly recommend staying at the Nereus while visiting the unique, spiritual island of Con Dao. Can’t wait to come back!

Clean, lovely and quiet hotel close to the center of Con Dao. Staff was super friendly and made my stay as comfortable as possible. I came here two times - in June and in November for 2 and 3 weeks. This is my second stay in the hotel and it really has all I needed - short walking distance to the beaches, old pier, to the local food restaurants that are right around the hotel, there is a lake 5 minutes ride behind the hotel, if you go to the road up the hill there's even a waterfall and a very nice and scenic cafe. What I loved most is how clean and quiet the hotel is. When I decided to do an elephant trail, the staff gave me a lift right to the start of the trail - it was great overall experience!

Controversial feelings. First of all, we checked from Booking.com that the "suite" was available. We went to the hotel in person and the manager (lady) told it is not possible to book the suite and that I am wrong. I tried many times to tell her, even showed her from my phone that "here, it is available and if I press here I would book it". - No no, that is my private family room. We went to see the room and it was exactly the same as the pictures of the suite that is up for booking, and that "she will give us a special gift by granting us the pleasure of getting it. Hmm.. It was the suite that is for everyones booking. We decided to book it for. She told that it had been empty for days before our stay. SO. The room was dirty, uncleaned, old toothpasta in a mug and so on. I went to take the mugs downstairs and I got weird looks when I kindly asked that could we have clean cups and the dirt removed please. They didnt bring the cups up to our room (they tried twice to get us to carry them to fifth floor), funny part is that there is a biiig list of all kinds of stuff you are obligated to pay when broken and the glasses were something like 50k each. Nothing happened with the cleaning either. So I decided to ask that could someone please bring the items back up, and the looks I got, again.. I paid over a million dong per night so I guess I should be cleaning the room right? The customer service from the beginning was horrifying. Felt like you were unwanted or unwelcomed. It got a little better in the end but I guess it was because of the "good review-thing" i am writing later of. The owners lives on the same floor and the noice and sounds goes trough the walls. You dont want to hear others TV when paying for A SUITE. They start cleaning and washing the laundry early in the morning til late evening. The sound isolation is very poor, the wind slams the door so you have to back it up with some heavy stuff you find in the room. The jacuzzi was not cleaned and gave brownish water when turned on, frankly we were kinda amazed it went on. This is understandable if the jacuzzi has not been used in a long time and the pipes are not "rinsed" so to say. No hot water, you will need to boil water and add it in the jacuzzi. Nothing happens when you ask for things, it needs to be done many times. One of the weirdest parts was that on our last night she came to us with a smile and said that we could review her on the hotel on google very good, she would need it and make her happy. I mean for a hotel to ask or kinda beg for a good review sounds kinda turnoff? To be honest, do not book the suite. The hotel has a nice top floor where you can enjoy the views and the hotel is located on a good spot. Just between the "old and new town". And yeah, theres a LOT of ants. Dont leave anything in the room opened. It is understandable in a wooden bungalow but frankly, not in the 5th floor. Handful of times seen on my 2 year travelling (in these kind of hotels)

I stayed for 5 days. The room with a great view, was comfortable and clean. I especially liked the staff, who were warm and welcoming to me. Great location being 5 minutes from the beach and close to many restaurants I also loved the jacuzzi in my room. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was very happy with my stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful.A breakfast option would have been good, but maybe not offered due to a quiet time?
