BEST hostel I’ve stayed in by a MILE. It feels like a home away from home which is so nice when solo travelling. This is all down to the wonderful owner, Mama, who immediately treats you as family. She is the most amazing woman and will always try her best to help with recommendations, transport, and ensuring you have the best time in Hoi An. Genuinely can’t thank her enough for everything! Highly highly recommend this hostel 🩷🩷

We had such an amazing stay here for 5 days and 4 nights. The hostess was truly exceptional, so kind, caring and genuine. She really took the time to listen to guests and made everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrived. Her recommendations were always spot on and she even ran a free street food tour for us, which ended up being one of the highlights of our time here. The hostel itself had a great vibe and atmosphere, making it really easy to meet like minded travellers and make new friends, while still keeping a chilled and relaxed feel. My girlfriend and I genuinely loved our time here and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a social, welcoming and memorable place to stay. Room AC worked perfectly.

We had the loveliest time at Cheerful hostel (which really lives up to its name!). The hostel is run by Hien who is the loveliest and most helpful lady ever! She organized so much for us including a cooking class, coffee making class, tickets to the Memories show, and a very comfortable sleeper bus onwards to Ninh Binh! She is such a special person that made our trip to Hoi An so memorable☺️ Our room was fabulous and sparkling clean. Breakfast every day was lovely (we had the omelette) with different delicious local fruit everyday 🥭

Couldn’t recommend this hostel enough🌟Hien is a wonderful host creating a friendly, comfortable stay and has so many amazing local reccs for things around Hoi An. Brilliant location (walking distance to rice paddy fields or Old Town), use of bikes, street food tour and tasty breakfast, make it such a great place to stay. I stayed in the private room which was spotless and had a lovely balcony. This hostel is the perfect mix of relaxation and social at the same time :) thank you Hien❤️

Thank you for the great stay at Cheerful Hoi An Hostel! The hostel „mom“ takes amazing care of everyone and always has great suggestions. She even took us on a private street food tour. Moreover, she helped us organize a scooter rental for the time of our stay. Big bonus: the passion fruit pancakes in the morning! We definitely recommend staying here.

I’d give it 10 stars if I could. This was the best stay I’ve ever had. It felt like family. I ended up staying 6 days instead of 4. Hien (the owner) is the best. She takes care of everything, has the best tips, and makes sure everyone feels comfortable and gets to know the others quickly. You make friends super fast. The rooms are spacious, clean and yes, the beds don’t have curtains, but you don’t need them at this hostel anyway (the lower beds in the 8 dorm have curtains). It’s a quick trip to the old town or the beach. Great location, great breakfast, and great people.

Cheerful hostel is one of the best hostels we stayed in whilst travelling. Muma (the owner) gets to know everyone staying and walks you through a plan while youre in hoi an, recommending great companies and activities. She is so kind, personable and helpful, and the breakfast is lovely! The only reason i dont put 10 stars is because the rooms arent great, top bunks do not have a curtain. However despite this we really enjoyed our stay and found the lack of curtains more sociable anyway! Would 100% recommend staying here😁

We only planned to spend 4 nights in Hoi A but ended up extending to 6 nights after staying in Cheerful Hostel. Hien took such good care of us with excellent recommendations of tailors, restaurants, day trips, and brought us on a local food tour! The breakfasts are amazing with daily fresh fruit and eggs. An Bang beach is just a short cycle away and a great place to spend a day. The Old Quarter is a 20 minute walk and very easy to get to! The hostel is clean, comfortable, and friendly, and we would highly recommend Cheerful Hostel to anyone looking to spend a lovely few days in this beautiful place.
