I had a very nice stay at City Hostel in Da Nang. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and always ready to help. The location is good, close to the beach and main places to visit. The hostel has a friendly and relaxed vibe. It is a good choice for travelers and worth the money. Highly recommended.

I loved my stay here, but it wasn't what I expected. I didn't book online and went straight ahead, the receptionist that works during the morning shift (Short, brown hair) told me that the hostel was full, I believed her, left and sat on a nearby chair and booked a bed and came back, then she gave me my key. And not only did she lie, she was overall rude to other travellers in the dorm. The night receptionist (Tall, dark black hair) was nice,, helpful, and respectful. The showers were good, the breakfast was the worst that I had in my life (Nescafe instant coffee with milk and one overcooked egg) and in the common room downstairs, there were like 4 or 5 cockroaches. Other than that, the dorms were perfect

An alright place to stay, comfy bed, working AC, free breakfast which was good, nothing much else though. The front desk were helpful and I can't fault the staff, there's just nothing particular special about the place and the dorms were very cramped with bunks piled up, no atmosphere at all. However if you just need a cheap place to stay then you can't really complain, quite central in Da Nang too. A lot of reviews mention cleanliness but I had no problems. *Stayed April 2025

Online I booked a 6 person room but got a 12 person room. And they wouldn’t refund or give me a discount. Workers stay in the room as well and use their phone with audio well into midnight. Bathrooms are scary. Only good thing is location

My experience at City Hostel Da Nang was disappointing. When I arrived, the staff did not seem welcoming or professional. They only assisted after I approached them, and the overall service felt unfriendly. There was also a strong unpleasant smell throughout the property, which made the stay uncomfortable. The biggest issue was that I booked a girls’ dormitory, but when I arrived, there were also male guests staying in the same dorm. This did not match the booking description and made me feel uncomfortable. I hope the hostel updates its listing to accurately reflect the accommodation or ensures that guests receive the room type they booked.

I was very disappointed with my experience. My booking was cancelled because I did not respond to a message asking for my check-in time — a message I unfortunately never saw. This left me in a very difficult situation, as there were no other hostels available in the city and finding an alternative on short notice was quite stressful. What made the situation more upsetting was the lack of empathy at reception. The staff member I spoke with was not particularly welcoming or understanding, and there was no real effort to assist or offer a solution. A simple apology or a willingness to help would have made a big difference. While I understand that policies exist, the overall handling of the situation felt quite unfriendly and disappointing.

Wayyy below average for a hostel. The bathrooms are super gross and filthy. It looks like they only do a light weekly cleaning. The staff offers no support at all. There was never any toilet paper provided. The small food area was filled with bugs and a really mean looking rat! The microwave was so filthy it's too unhealthyto use(see photo if TA lets me post it). The white things are live worms all over it! Imagine what things are crawling around in the beds. Aaaaah! It's like the Wuhan lab built this hostel. Please avoid this place for a healthy holiday.

The best thing about the hostel is the location. It is close to the Dragon Bridge, the Cathedral and, Han Market. The service is average. They have rental motorcycles and, bicycles. A small towel is provided and you can change it every day for a new one. Bring cash with you to put it down as a deposit for the towel and a key for the place where you will be keeping your valuables. The room payment comes with breakfast that starts from 7:00 am - 10:00 am. If you show up 2 to 5 minutes late, you will not be served. Breakfast is very basic, mostly noodles, bread and, fried egg. Ginger tea, coffee, or matcha tea is served with breakfast. Much improvement is needed into keeping the place clean. The walls of the bathrooms, inside the shower can be cleaner. The bed has bugs. They try to spray for the bugs but, this only makes people sick. After they sprayed around my bed, I was sick for 3 days. And, everyone in the room was coughing and, sneezing. The cover does not get changed after being used by the previous person. They only change the pillow case and the mattress cover. Some of the staff are nice. Maybe they could be nicer if there was not a language barrier.
