We had a great stay at Sun River Apartment in Da Nang. The cleanliness of the apartment was truly outstanding – everything was spotless and very well maintained. The bed linen was perfectly clean and fresh, which made the stay even more comfortable. The Wi-Fi was also very reliable and worked perfectly during our stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even helped me receive a courier package that I ordered while staying in Vietnam, which was very kind and professional. The location is also very convenient, with shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away, making it a great place to stay if you want to explore Da Nang and enjoy the sea. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay and we would definitely come back again.

Great hotel, the staff were great especially the housekeeping. The breakfast was very good and filling. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The location is great 10 minute walk to the beach. Try Nudo resto around the corner.

I was very satisfied with my stay here. First of all, the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Secondly, the hotel is well maintained and kept very clean. Thirdly, the location is very convenient — quiet enough, yet close to the beach and the city center. Overall, it’s a very pleasant place and I would definitely recommend it.

I was surprised by how good this hotel was, and ended up staying here for over three weeks. Rooms are lovely, large, and comfortable. The cleaning is impeccable. The breakfast is generous and healthy, with reasonable variety. Staff were lovely, especially Hien - thanks Hien! 5 minutes to the beach. Internet is fast and stable, and there are a variety of places you can relax and do some work. I honestly can't fault it. Even the prices for beer in the mini bar are cheaper than supermarket prices in my home country. Stay here.

This is a good place overall. I was about to give it four if not five stars, but it has a few defects, mostly with staff training, that are so easy to fix yet not really acceptable at this price for Da Nang. They could easily fix most of this through slightly better staff training, and then the stay would be easily worth the price. -Shower. The shower was quite good overall, but runs out of hot water after a bit less than 10 minutes. After that, hot water eventually resumes but the temperature and pressure are different, and it's a bit annoying, especially at this price level. I believe this hotel was built many years ago, but can't this still be fixed? The room facilities would be close to perfect if they did. -The curtains are not blackout curtains. This is more of a personal preference - on a sunny day the room does nicely fill up with light in the morning. But for this price point most hotels would have blackout curtains. The air conditioning is also very good (and is central air conditioning that you can individually control - it is not a wall mount unit.) However, it blows a bit far from the bed. It makes the room cold but you cannot make the room super cold, which is often healthiest for a deep sleep. -Service. (This should be the easiest to fix?): -They would not simply write down my passport information, which is all that is required under Vietnamese law. They insisted on taking a photo. This can be a security risk from the customer's perspective. Under Vietnamese data protection law, they are also supposed to give you the right not to have your ID photographed if you don't want that. They need to train the front desk a bit better about this. -At breakfast, you must request eggs to be cooked for you at the front desk. I'm fine with this - and appreciate the fresh eggs. However, after I asked for boiled eggs, the cook did not peel them. I then interrupted my breakfast to ask if the eggs could be peeled. The receptionist refused to ask the cook and simply told me they could not be and refused to help. I should have asked the cook myself, but that would have required my actually walking outside the building to ask him. This all seems a little ridiculous at this price point. People come to Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, for great service. This is easily fixed - the cook would have been happy to peel my eggs in 5 minutes - and all the receptionist had to do was ask him. There should not be a "communist" mindset of saying no to any small customer request that is slightly unexpected at this price level. Instead, there should be a service mindset oriented toward continuous improvement. -The price was fairly higher than you would pay for similar quality in many lower-income and middle-income countries in Europe. This was true even though I cancelled my booking and paid directly to the front desk. Perhaps in part for this reason, I noticed the hotel was relatively empty. -Finally, as other reviews note, it was disconcerting at checkout when they said "We need to check the room!" I was initially under the impression they were holding my luggage as collateral while they did their "check." Obviously, the hotel has your passport and credit card information on file, and, in the event of major damage, they can file a claim against you. But giving the impression that they might be holding you or your luggage hostage while they look for any possible flaw in the room you just slept in is not great from a customer service perspective. IMO, it would be much better to just quietly check the room agree the customer exits and only bring it up if there is damage. Luggage should never be held as collateral - even the mere impression of that should never be given at a hotel in this price range. For Vietnam, this was a solid stay overall, and I will come back despite these flaws. But if they could fix these things, it would be much better.

Kind Staff, BUT A SERIOUS COMFORT PROBLEM The rooms are adequate but nothing special — if you're heading to this part of Vietnam, you'll find much better value in Hoi An. The staff are genuinely kind people, and that counts for something, but they lack proper hospitality training. Now here's the part most guests will feel but might not be able to pinpoint: the humidity. I'm a mechanical engineer, so I'll put numbers to it. Most people are comfortable at around 50–60% relative humidity. Our room (see attached photo) was sitting at 80% RH at 23°C — that's the kind of damp, clammy air that makes your sheets feel wet and your skin never quite dry. It's deeply uncomfortable, and it affects your sleep. We raised the issue with staff, but they couldn't resolve it. The air conditioning units aren't properly sized or maintained for dehumidification — something a higher-end operation would have sorted. It's the kind of thing you take completely for granted until it fails, and once it does, it ruins the stay. If humidity doesn't bother you, this might be a passable budget option in Da Nang. But for most people, I'd look elsewhere.

It all started with a booking. I came to this hotel to make a reservation in person, got a room, agreed on the terms, and made a deposit. After the payment, I was told that my room was already occupied and that I needed to pay more money. It felt like some kind of scam or manipulation. They are not willing to accommodate customers at all. The staff is very unfriendly, and the hotel manager speaks in a raised voice, not following basic etiquette. The security guard was a pleasant person and seemed to watch the whole situation with a smile. They threatened to call the police three times! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

We loved our stay at the Sun River Apartments! Our studio with a balcony was spacious, with a large kitchen. There is so much story space everywhere! Our large balcony had a lovely view of the city skyline facing the sea plus two chairs and table. The service is amazing! Staff are fabulous! Always ready and willing to help with anything. The beds are large and very comfortable. Bathroom is spacious w plenty of hot water. Room can be cleaned on a daily basis. The location is minutes walk to the beach, local street markets and downtown Danang. Sleep quality is great. No karaoke noise, nightclub music or traffic noise. We stayed here on three different occasions and each time we loved it more. We highly recommend staying here
