I went there yesterday to hand in my passport renewal application. After reading the other reviews I was expecting a stressful experience but it couldn't have gone any smoother. The security guards outside might as well have not been there, they took no notice of me at all. Some reviews had claimed they were rude. The lady who dealt with my application was fantastic, she went through my paperwork with me and approved it and said my new passport would probably take around 6 weeks to arrive. One thing I must add. The passport photos you provide MUST have been taken within the last month. I wasn't aware of that. So she sent me to a nearby camera shop to get new ones done which was no problem at all. Overall an excellent experience.

I was quite nervous after reading all comments as this is the 1st time I go to submit a visa application by myself. But actually both security guy and VFS officers are super nice and supportive. Get my work done in a very quick and confortable way.

I submitted my German visa application and biometrics on April 24, 2026, at VFS Da Nang. The staff member, Ms. Tram, was very friendly, supportive, and professional while handling my documents. The appointment booking process in Da Nang was also quick and easy. Overall, I had a very positive experience.

DETAIL REVIEW & ADVICE FOR UK PASSPORT RENEWALS I was glad that it is possible to apply for UK passports for my children locally in Vietnam, which is very convenient in principle. However, our experience with this service involved several avoidable problems that caused extra cost, headache, coordination and significant delays. Both applications filed were stopped by the UK Passport Office due to issues that should ideally have been checked before submission, including: - A passport photo that did not fully meet official requirements (the head was to high up in the picture) - An application form completed incorrectly due to a long name (they then required the birth certificate to be posted, and subsequently additional verification since the return address (mom's house) didn't correspond to the address they had on file (my old UK address). - An incorrect fee calculation, which later required an additional payment from the UK by postal order. These issues led to additional documents being sent to the UK, complicated payment arrangements, and long delays—even though the applications were submitted as express. My recommendation to future applicants is to double-check photos, forms, and fees VERY carefully on your own and to ask detailed questions at the centre before submission. With more thorough checks, this service could offer a much better experience. Hope this helps someone. Cheers

I was hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately it was very similar to other VFS branches in Vietnam. The staff often seem unfriendly, and it feels like many employees are not properly trained and are replaced frequently. Again and again, you have to argue that the documents you are submitting are correct. The problem is usually not the documents themselves, but that the staff are unsure about the requirements. Because they are afraid of making mistakes, documents are sometimes rejected or questioned unnecessarily. What is especially frustrating is the lack of consistency. One employee accepts a set of documents without any issues, while another employee finds several problems with the exact same documents. In many cases, the staff do not speak the language the documents are written in and do not seem interested in checking the details carefully. People who have an impact on someone’s future through the processing of visa paperwork should be well trained, motivated, and professional. Their decisions can affect a person’s education, career, and life plans. This is not a job that should rely on “learning by doing.”

They have waiting chairs inside the premises, but they make us wait outside where there are no seats. In addition, the treatment is bad and the receptionist doesn’t speak English.
