This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It’s supposed to be “luxury,” but it turned out to be a complete dump. We requested a room with one double bed, but they gave us a room with two single beds. When we pointed this out, the staff member simply pushed the two beds together. After he pushed one of the beds, we saw a lot of trash underneath: candy wrappers, plastic, used dental floss and toothpicks, and tons of dust. Let me remind you — this is supposed to be a luxury hotel, but they can’t even properly clean the room. Later, when we had to check out, they made us move the beds back ourselves. We told them that it was their staff who had pushed the beds together and that they had given us the wrong room, but they didn’t care at all. In the end, we went back upstairs and moved the beds ourselves. There is a floor scale in the bathroom, but it doesn’t work. There is an induction stove in the kitchen, but it doesn’t work either. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel, but they didn’t provide us with any bathrobes, there was zero tableware in the room, even though there is a mini-kitchen. The elevators are terrible — poorly organized (we had to wait for the elevator for 15 to 20 minutes each time, even though there are four elevators), they’re never cleaned, always dirty and stained, the handrails are broken and shake violently. The windows in the dining area are always dirty, and they’re supposed to be panoramic windows — they should be spotless so that guests can enjoy the views. The pool attendant was constantly watching me and my friend while we were in the pool. He literally followed us around and stared only at us. There was no reason for this at all, but it made us leave the pool. The gym consists of one exercise machine, two treadmills, and a single set of dumbbells… and that’s for all the guests in the hotel! There are over 30 floors, and that’s all this “luxury” hotel has to offer! Additionally, the staff sweeps the floor with an old-fashioned rural broom that barely collects any trash instead of using a proper, modern, convenient broom. The room information stated that there is 24-hour room service, but I called room service and reception for HALF AN HOUR, and no one ever answered. The reception staff has no idea how to work and has no system at all: we returned our key card, and while the staff member was processing our check-out, ten more people came and handed over their key cards. The staff member started helping them instead of finishing with us first. Total chaos and everything mixed up. On top of that, we paid a deposit, but to get it back we had to provide a receipt… They didn’t warn us about this in advance, and they already had a copy of this receipt! There is absolutely no point in demanding the receipt from us considering they have all the documentation and our IDs — so they should have no doubts that we are who we say we are. But this is just another way for them to try to take more money from guests. Terrible hotel. Terrible staff. Terrible service.

Despite its five-star rating, the room facilities were acceptable, except for a poorly designed bathroom lock and a kitchen lacking any essential tools. The worst part was the breakfast, which was worse than a three-star hotel. The selection was extremely limited , and the food quality was damn poor. From bread and beverages to hot dishes and salads, even the authentic Vietnamese pho was of very very low quality. All the food is the cheapest quality available. Serving such a terrible breakfast to so many guests made it impossible to want to stay here again. The check-in staff were also not so polite. In addition, the music from outside continues until midnight, it's extremely noisy. Without good service and correspondingly high-quality food, it cannot be called a five-star hotel at all.

worst hotel ever. Reception was like a street market. Do not clean the trash bin.

The reception staff were not very welcoming or enthusiastic, which was disappointing. In contrast, the security and bell staff were friendlier and more attentive. Breakfast was very limited with few choices, so expectations should be kept low.The room felt unclean, particularly the carpet which had visible stains and did not appear to have been vacuumed. Facilities such as the pool and gym were also poorly maintained. Overall, the hotel does not reflect the level of luxury it claims to offer. On checkout, we had two hours before our car arrived, but the lobby had no air conditioning switched on despite several guests waiting, it was uncomfortable. I will not be back.

Great hotel with great amenities. Area around hotel is quiet outside of tour arrival times. Beach does have some music on some of the nights each week but is normally done by 10-11pm at the latest. Views of Ha Long Bay are wonderful if you have a beach facing room. Breakfast was good with decent variety, would just recommend getting to it early to have your choice of food/drink. Staff were excellent and very attentive.

The location is good if you want to go to the amusement park oder water park opposite. For boat tours it is still a 25 min car ride to the pier. There are lots of shops and restaurants around the hotel. At night it is crazy loud with music blasting and cars constantly using their horn. The elevators are not suitable for the size of the hotel. We were on the 13th floor and had to wait regularly 10 mins to catch one. The pool area is ok and functional but very crowded at peak times. Breakfast is ok, the Pho Bar is good, apart from that it is average at best. Breakfast is served until 9:30 but after 9:00 there is no more renewing the buffet. Also here it is very crowded and loud. The rooms are pretty new but we’re not cleaned during our stay. The housekeeping only made the beds and emptied the trash, there was no vacuuming or cleaning the bathroom floor. Overall it is ok as the price is low, but I would not stay there again and not recommend it.

The checkin process is absolutely awful. The waiting time was too long, we checked in at 12p.m, waiting for nearly 4 hours, even after the checkin time which is 15p.m we still had to wait for 30 more minutes to have the key card (and the room was not completely ready when we came in as the staff was still cleaning then). Meanwhiles, during the waiting time, I came and have a check with the receptionist several times, and I noticed that there’re some guests checked out after 12 pm ( 12:45, 15:00,…😀). I love Muong Thanh’s hotels as I chose there to stay for my vacation a lot of times, but this time was really disappointing.
