I would say they have the best rooms in the Saigon-city of Saigon tourist chains. Beautiful view to the Bai Chay beach of Ha Long.

Saigon Halong Hotel delivers a robust, end-to-end guest experience with strong operational execution. My stay in Room 523 has been outstanding, supported by premium bay views, well-maintained interiors, and responsive service standards. The property’s strategic Bai Chay location enhances mobility for cruise connections and sightseeing. A key differentiator is its large-scale MICE infrastructure — the conference halls can accommodate 500+ delegates, enabling high-volume corporate events, conventions, and incentive groups. Overall, the hotel demonstrates solid service architecture and remains a dependable, performance-driven choice in Ha Long Bay.

We were with a Gate 1 tour that had asked the hotel to provide bay views, and for us, the bkfst buffet is included, but I do not know if that is standard for everyone. Our group was on the 8 to 12th floors, so of course we all had Excellent views! The buffet had lots of choices, and being on the 14 floor, also had great views, and they even have a patio area where you can eat outside if you like! The rooms were huge, with a king size bed and large picture window to see the views, and each room has a small balcony to prep outside (but no chairs to sit down on). The bed was firm and comfortable - just like we like it! The svc was good, but only needed for bkfst and of course checking in and out. Location was in walking distance (15 min) to the ocean and beach, and a little longer to get to the cable cars to take you across the water to an amusement area (we did not use the cable cars, but others in our group did and said it was a good experience. We took a leisurely walk to the beach and walked around a bit, and enjoyed it.

I am sharing this review to document a serious concern regarding hygiene and overall stay experience. I stayed at this hotel from last night until noon today. During this entire period, I did not leave the hotel. I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and returned to my room to rest. Before resting, my arm was completely normal. Shortly afterward, I developed multiple swollen, clustered bite-like marks. A medical report later confirmed these as insect bites, not consistent with a typical allergic reaction. I reported the issue immediately. However, the hotel staff refused to conduct a proper inspection and repeatedly attributed the condition to external factors such as weather or food, without providing any supporting evidence. The communication was unprofessional and dismissive. Although they later allowed us to revisit the room, it had already been cleaned and the bed sheets had been replaced, which compromised the scene and made proper assessment impossible. Additionally, the staff suggested that cleanliness could be verified by “smelling the sheets,” which is not a valid or professional method. This situation raises serious concerns about hygiene management. Insect-related issues may also carry a risk of spreading through clothing and luggage if not properly addressed. Furthermore, the environment was extremely noisy. From approximately 6:30 PM until 2:00 AM, loud music from nearby beach bars was constantly audible, accompanied by strong lighting. Even the balcony door vibrated from the noise, making it very difficult to rest. I have retained supporting evidence, including photos, audio recordings, and medical documentation. I strongly advise future guests to carefully consider these factors before booking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. First, we were lucky enough to have the water view side. The view was amazing. Second, the room was a great size. Third, we were able to watch the sunrise from the breakfast area upstairs. Very nice! As others have mentioned, there is music coming from far outside the hotel..it is loud but, for me, the view more than made up for the noise which I am sure also impacts all hotels in the region. Very enjoyable experience!

    ## Saigon Halong Hotel ReviewLocated in the heart of the **Bai Chay** district, Saigon Halong Hotel remains a solid four-star choice for travelers seeking panoramic views of **Ha Long Bay**. While the architecture carries a classic, slightly dated charm, the rooms are remarkably spacious and kept impeccably clean. The hotel’s standout feature is its **location**; it is within walking distance of the Night Market and Sun World Complex. Guests can enjoy a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool or dine at the **Panorama Restaurant**, which offers stunning sea vistas. Although the breakfast buffet is modest and some facilities feel vintage, the professional staff and competitive pricing provide excellent value for a comfortable stay by the bay.

Halong is a beautiful beach town. The hotel is located a few blocks from the water and the rooms over look an amphitheater. While the windows at the restaurant, which is high end, are sound proof, the windows at the rooms are not soundproof and the amphitheater is a very lively place late into the night. This really is a exceptional hotel. I wish we had more time to spend here.||Breakfast is served on the top floor of the hotel. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is great.

This stay completely redefined my understanding of how low hotel standards can go.||The timeline is very clear: from last night to noon today, I stayed entirely inside the hotel. I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and returned to my room to rest. Before that, my arm was completely normal. Shortly after, I developed multiple swollen, clustered bite-like marks. A medical report later confirmed these as insect bites, not consistent with a typical allergic reaction.||The issue is not just the bites, but how the hotel handled it.||When I reported it, the staff did not attempt any meaningful inspection. Instead, they repeatedly insisted it must be caused by “weather” or “food,” without providing any evidence. Apparently, as long as it’s not their responsibility, any explanation will do. What makes this even more absurd is that throughout the entire timeline, I never left the hotel — even the food I consumed was provided by the hotel itself. Yet this basic fact was completely ignored, and their explanations remained logically inconsistent, reduced to little more than persistent denial.||Eventually, they allowed us to re-check the room — except by then, it had already been cleaned and the bed sheets replaced. In other words, the scene was no longer intact at the most critical moment.||And here comes the most “impressive” part: the staff suggested we smell the bed sheets to confirm cleanliness.||Yes — smell.||I didn’t realize hygiene standards were now based on scent.||As if that wasn’t enough, the environment itself was another experience. From around 6:30 PM until 2:00 AM, loud music from nearby beach bars was constant, accompanied by strong lighting. The balcony doors were literally vibrating. Sleeping was… ambitious.||To be fair, issues like insects may happen anywhere. But how a hotel responds is what defines it. Here, it felt less like problem-solving and more like problem-denying.||I have retained full evidence, including photos, audio recordings, and medical documentation, and will continue to follow up through appropriate channels.||For future guests: check your bedding carefully, and document everything immediately — because apparently, “the scene” may not stay available for long.
