  Riding our motorcycle through the scenic landscape of Cat Ba to Lion's Cafe, located next to the so-called Butterfly Valley, was an exhilarating experience. The winding road offered breathtaking views that made the journey as memorable as the destination itself. Lion's Cafe, perfectly positioned near Butterfly Valley, provides a relaxing retreat surrounded by Cat Ba's natural beauty. The cafe has a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great spot to recharge after exploring the island. They serve coffee that is both rich and aromatic, ideal for coffee enthusiasts looking for a quality brew. The staff at Lion's Cafe are welcoming and attentive, enhancing the overall pleasant experience. With comfortable seating both inside and outside, guests can choose to enjoy the cozy indoors or sit outside to admire the island's lush greenery and tranquil environment. While the area is named Butterfly Valley, butterflies are a common sight throughout Cat Ba, fluttering amidst the abundant foliage across the island.   Beautiful family run place, great coffee and serene views and atmosphere. Exciting drive there - just don’t follow maps too closely - it is to the end of the road, not up the hill, and left down toward the farm. Special place, friendly staff, great coffee.

  So delightful! It was so nice to close your eyes and hear the peaceful sound of the countryside. The staff had good English and appreciated our Vietnamese attempts. We stayed for a couple of hours playing cards and ordering warm drinks! Such a beautiful view of the countryside. We saw many ducks, cows, chickens, and a heron. The dogs and cats on the property are all very friendly and fearless.

  This place is so peaceful! I came very morning for an egg coffee and it was just so therapeutic. PS google maps doesn’t give you the right way to get here. Just follow the main town street and you will find physical arrows indicating the location

  My girlfriend brought me here without telling me where we were going. It was far off the main highway but the ride was enjoyable. Once we arrived I felt like we had arrived at a special place because the scenery is so beautiful. The staff could not speak English but was very kind and helped us order one coffee one mango smoothie one fried potato and one egg noodles. The fried potatoes came out a little different than what we expected but everything else was fine. Not amazing, but fine. We mostly enjoy the amazing views and the chill animals.

  We came here because the roasted chicken looked amazing in photos. Unfortunately they ran out that evening and we ended up getting another style. We understand this happens but the chicken itself that we got was not good. It tasted tough but also rubbery and it was expensive. One of the priciest meals we had in Vietnam for just a chicken and mixed vegetable dish. Service was ok for us but there was another guest there (only our table and one another that evening) and they completely forgot the lady’s order. Butterfly Valley is a beautiful place and maybe it would be nice to come for a drink but I do not recommend the food.
