  We received fantastic treatment at this hospital. Me and my partner both went with wounds that had unfortunately got infected and we were treated with such care and patience as we did not speak Vietnamese. They were both super sanitary as they used gloves, masks and sterilised equipment. I can’t thank the doctors that helped us enough and putting our minds at ease.

  Thank you for taking care of my son. After bike accident the wound got infected and swallen. The doctors took care immediately, cleaning the wound, cutting off the dead issue, and giving all needed medicine. Very professional and nice service.

  The hospital is open at night, but... I also went there because of rabies post exposure shot. I walked around the compound, seeing though windows a lot of patients sleeping. Eventually I heard voices from the first floor. I knocked, ask for a doctor. With Google translate we talked. After seeing my vaccination papers (I have in sum 5 post ex shots), she said they don't have it and in her opinion I don't need it. If I wanted too, I should have it within 10 days. So as I'm going to Ninh Bin, I will try it at the local vaccination center. A guy on Google said they gave it to him, while the hospital refused.

  Very scary looking hospital. I went in the night after 4 days of food poisoning, awful stomach cramps and passing blood. When I explained my situation the doctor just asked ‘so what do you want me to do?’. I immediately left and went to Hanoi first thing where it turned out I had a bowel infection. Do not go here if you need medical help.

  Worst experience I have ever had. Those people are disgusting.. i was lying on the hospital bed with very high fever, they just left me lying alone without any information.. when my gf asked for information after 7 hours they just replied: if you want to know what you have and want help you need to go to the city hospital... and most important: during all the time nurses and medics were joking and laughing at us.. while I was lying on the bed suffering!

  Came here with really bad food poisoning. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. It is extremely unsanitary, there is mould growing on the walls and dirt everywhere, including the beds. They did not wear masks or gloves and kept touching their mouths, even when giving me an injection for an IV drip. This hospital is like something out of a horror movie, do not come here.

  Very bad hospital and specialists. I came after a few days of severe headache, fever and flu-like symptoms. Nobody paid attention to me at first, a lot of people laughed and chatted. Nobody spoke english, not even the doctor. Finally they checked my temperature and blood pressure, then the doctor looked at my arm, said I don’t have dengue, checked my throat and concluded that I have acute pharyngitis, even though I didn’t even have a sore throat. I got prescribed antibiotics, not sure why, and I had to pay 700k dong for the visit! Later I had to go see a doctor in Hanoi, because the meds didn’t help and it turned out that I do indeed have dengue!! You shouldn’t go there if you care for your health, seek help in a bigger city.

  I came here two days ago for a rabies post exposure vaccine. I explained my situation on translate and the nurses/receptionists all laughed in my face and told me "the wound is so small and the risk is low." I left the hospital feeling incredibly anxious and rather embarrassed. No matter how low the risk of rabies, if you do get it it is 100% fatal, and there have been nearly 80 people who have died of it in Vietnam this year so far. I found the unprofessionalism astounding. As soon as I got to Hanoi the next day, I got the vaccine at the French hospital, and they were incredibly helpful and professional. I would avoid Cat Ba Island hospital at all costs and get to Hanoi as soon as possible if you need medical assistance.
