  Really nice affordable hostel with free buffet breakfast and dinner. Nice social scene especially during dinner. Rooms were nice with big lockers. Parts of the hostel smelled moldy though but luckily I don't think my things got moldy. Honestly I would have stayed in Cat Ba longer just for the hostel but I'm not an island person

  hands down best hostel we have stayed at in SE asia! the spread for breakfast is great (they cook eggs for you, pancakes, fruit, also noodles, juice, coffee). room was lovely, they gave us a free upgrade to a balcony room when we got there and we liked it so much we extended 2 more nights. loved the side lights next to the bed. location good in the town. staff so so friendly and lovely, they all remembered our names which made it feel so special. they do a free walking tour everyday which we would definitely recommend! you go to some beautiful viewpoints and great chance to learn more about the town. our favorite bit was the free family dinner every night. not only was it delicious (alternated every other night so one day was fish then other was chicken/tofu then also had rice, spring rolls and a vegetable) but was such a great way to meet other people. and free dinner every night! we booked tours and transport through the front desk also 100% would recommend to anyone coming to Catba

  Too good to be true. Free breakfast and dinner m. Cheap clean wonderfully air conditioned rooms. Not to mention the best part. The staff. So lovely. Each and every one of them. Made me feel so welcome. Really lovely people. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting cat ba

  If you’re thinking about staying here or somewhere else, this is your sign to stay here! In Cat Ba, this is the best value for money you’ll find. My partner and I were planning to stay here for 3 nights, but we were so happy that we decided to extend one more night. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff made us feel welcome. They were always willing to answer our questions, give recommendations, and even invited us to join their family dinner, which really set the tone for our stay. The room is spacious and clean, and the mattress is soft — perfect for Western travelers. The tour offered by the hotel is cheaper than in other places. Breakfast is a buffet with different options, very tasty and filling. At the rooftop bar, they even prepared typical drinks from our country after we shared the recipe with them! Thank you for everything — it was an incredible stay!

  This is a great, good value (& cheap) place to stay. Perfect for a few nights in Cat ba to see Lan Ha Bay. We stayed in a double room with a balcony. It is clean and well equipped with bedside lights/kettle/toiletries. The bed room was spacious but the bathroom is a tight squeeze. The bed is big and comfortable. You can hear people if they are loud in the coridoor but that didn’t really happen, I wasn’t disturbed at all. The location is good, quiet but close to the restaurants (even if you have to walk through a not very nice alley to get there). Staff are very helpful and sweet. There is a laundry service - every thing came back folded and smelling really nice. Breakfast wasn’t to my taste but that’s the nature of a Vietnamese breakfast I think. For the price, we weren’t expecting it so wasn’t an issue for us.

  The stuff was amazing. I arrived in the morning after an overnight ride and could Check-in immediately. Breakfast is included and the free family-dinner is further a great way to connect with nice people. Just the air quality in the room was not ideal since there was only a small window in the main room and no window in the bathroom (4-Person dorm). Yet a truly amazing price -quality ratio.

  Family Home is one of the best accommodations I’ve stayed at, not only in Vietnam, but overall. Manager Bobby is a wonderful and friendly host who greets you with a smile and helps with anything you need. He also gives good recommendations for places to see. He invited the guests for dinner when we stayed there, and served great food. It was a really nice evening. Breakfast is also very good, and the location is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and spacious. I truly recommend this place! They also have dart and a pool table. We went during low season, and it was nice and calm, no noise and a good price. We paid around 300 000 VND for one night.

  The Paddy Catba is a great hostel right in the center of the city. We booked a day tour cuise with them and rented a motorbike here, both were great. Staff helped us with some stuff we had to do in Hanoi after our stay here and he was a great help. If you're looking for a hostel that offers not only great amenities but also exceptional service and genuine care, this is the place to stay.!
