  Fantastic hostel. Very social and all the staff are so lovely. Linh is very helpful and really cares about making sure everyone has a good time. Felix was also great and helped create a really welcoming atmosphere! Had a great time and really comfy beds. Plus excellent coconut coffee!

  Service here was some of the best I have ever experienced at a hostel. The front desk staff truly go above and beyond to make sure guests are taken care of. I was incredibly impressed. We booked our Ha Long Bay cruise through them, and at 11pm the night before we were supposed to leave, the cruise company suddenly canceled. The Secret Garden staff notified us immediately and quickly arranged a different cruise, our transport to the boat with a private speedboat, and transportation back to Hanoi after the trip. They even followed up multiple times to make sure we got picked up by the driver, got on the boat smoothly, and were enjoying our time. We truly felt so taken care of. The rooms and dorms are fairly basic but clean, and the location is great, close to restaurants and several beaches. Breakfast was simple but exactly what I expected for something included with the stay. One thing to note is that this is a very social hostel and they host activities every night until around 10:30pm. It can be a bit loud in the rooms earlier in the evening, but it consistently quieted down by about 10:30 each night. I would not necessarily call it a party hostel, but it is definitely lively and social. I would absolutely stay here again just for the incredible service. Thank you to the whole Secret Garden team. You guys are the best.

  Extremely friendly place. I spent the 10th night here today. The common rooms are clean, quiet and the air conditioning is excellent. Breakfast is included in the room. There is a pool table, creative equipment. And a super garden area. There is something good going on every night. Karaoke night, jam session, movie night etc. The organization is professional. There is a laundry service. You can pay by card. It is super close to everything. I sincerely recommend it to everyone.

  Best hostel we’ve been to in Vietnam! Rooms were nice and clean, fresh towels everyday, the staff was very friendly and helpful, organized tours and transport for us! Breakfast was included (eggs or pancakes, some fruit and coffee and tea). It’s a very social hostel as well - lots of activities in the evening, live music, easy to get to know a lot of people. Quite noisy due to the events but it’s quite after 22.30. It’s located close to a lot of restaurants and you can walk about 30min to the beach or rent a scooter from the hostel. We definitely recommend coming here! Best service for a very fair price.

  I had such an amazing stay at Secret Garden Hostel in Cat Ba. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome and created such a warm, relaxed atmosphere that it instantly felt like home. The hostel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to unwind after exploring the island. What really made the experience special though were the people. The staff went out of their way to help with everything, from recommendations and booking activities to simply sitting and chatting with guests. You can tell they really care about creating a good experience for everyone staying there. The social atmosphere was also perfect — easy to meet people without it feeling forced or overwhelming. I ended up making some great memories here that I’ll genuinely look back on for a long time. If you’re coming to Cat Ba and want somewhere with good vibes, kind people, and a relaxed atmosphere, I honestly couldn’t recommend Secret Garden Hostel enough. One of those places that’s hard to leave.

  I stayed in this hostel with my mate and we loved it that much we returned with more mates a week later. The reps Cameron and Giel are absolute legends! Incredible atmosphere, participated in the pub quiz twice and everyone got involved which was just INSANE!! Best hostel in the whole of Vietnam!! Staff are so friendly and welcoming, beds are comfortable. The pool is very refreshing, nice touch to your stay! Great location and will definitely be returning for a third time!! Big up The Secret Garden

  It's wonderful here, like stepping into a different world! The bar have a lot of paintings which looks incredible and unreal, there are also community pool tables, card-games and comfy chairs to enjoy your drinks. The room is neat and spotless, the matress smells nice. The bathroom is bright and has good amount of bathroom supplies. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Would I visit it again? Definitely.

  Good location in Cat Ba town, great restaurant/bar that is nice for socializing in the evenings. ||Rooms are just ok, overall clean but quite crowded. Shower in our dorm room often did not work and they could use more hooks/storage space in the dorms.||Unfortunately the pool was closed for cleaning while there.||Lots of cute cats on the property!
