Best food we had while in Cat Ba! Very cute restaurant. Spring rolls, chicken pad thai, and chicken banh mi pictured. Yum!!

This place was an absolute gem! We weren’t sure because of the name and that it seemed western focused, but the traditional food was super good! I had the chicken pho and it really hit the spot! The veggie spring rolls were also super good- best we’ve had so far in Vietnam! In general seemed like the food was really fresh and place was really clean. Service was also impeccable, our waitress was amazing and had such a kind smile. ☺️ vibes were also on point! 10/10 experience!

Excellent food with generous portions. I ate here twice with my wife during our stay in Cat Ba Bay and highly recommend it.

Very nice place to stay. Great food and very friendly atmosphere. We visited the place two days in a raw. Chicken cashew nut with rice was great, the same with chicken curry. Also you need to try the traditional pho soup. We took the beef one and it was great. Highly recommend.

This place has both meat and vegetarian options on their menu so was perfect for a 1:1 couple like us, and they did not disappoint! :) My partner tried the mushrooms on toast as a little midday snack one day, this dish comes with a vegan cream cheese on fresh toasted rye bread with many mushrooms! Even as the meat eater in our duo, he said the vegan cream cheese was pretty good! It definitely looked delicious! After seeing that, we picked this place for breakfast :D I opted for the vegetarian toast, (toasted rye bread, tomatoes and avocado with eggs) and asked to add the hummus sauce. What. A. Breakfast! The toasted rye tastes incredibly fresh and bouncy, wasnt toasted too much, just perfect. The hummus was delicious and was at no extra charge even though it was an add on, a whole avocado, half on each slice which was incredible and I finished completely happy, full and content. The coffee was dark and strong, so was a great start, and after his previous dish, my partner chose another vegetarian dish and his breakfast was almost as good, apart from forgetting to remove the tomatoes. They also gave him hummus instead of the vegan cream cheese as stated on the menu, but luckily, he loves a bit of hummus so wasnt too miffed :D All in all, absolutely excellent, and may well pop by for one last bite before we leave Cat Ba!

Food was delicious. The chicken pho has lots of flavor. The seafood pad thai was also great!! The fried egg rolls were alright and just lacking some flavor. The service was bad…. asked for plates for our food multiple times and it took about three time until they brought it.

I visited Casa Bonita 2 and thought it was a really cute place overall. The interior was nicely decorated, especially the walls, which gave it a lovely atmosphere. What I really appreciated was the wide range of vegan options – which is quite rare in Vietnam. They even offered to customize dishes, which was a big plus. I tried the vegan pho and was excited to see it on the menu. It was good, but unfortunately a bit bland in flavor. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and found the place very charming, but I probably wouldn’t come back because the food didn’t fully convince me. Still a great spot if you’re looking for vegan-friendly options.

November 2025: I am a Level 7 contributor (>400 reviews) on Google and regularly review eateries and experiences both in Asia and Melbourne. I came to this restaurant over 2 nights for dinner. Here are my recommendations: ✴️✴️✴️✴️ Seafood stew with rice. The broth tasted amazing, mildly spicy with a sour taste of the lemongrass, blending into a coconut-flavoured soup. The seafood ingredients are from baby prawns, clams and squid. The fish cakes tasted nice. ✴️✴️✴️✴️ Grilled oysters with cheese. These oysters are small, half the size of those in Australia. They tasted delicious with the cheese. ✴️✴️✴️✴️ Avocado ice cream was unique and tasted delicious with the coconut flakes as toppings. ✴️✴️✴️ The Pad Thai is not as exceptional as some reviewers noted. It was too wet and spicy for my liking. There were also big pieces of garlic used for the stir fry. ✴️✴️✴️ I expected my coconut coffee to come in a drip cup, but it wasn't. I had better coconut coffee in Sa Pa. The service can be slow because it's popular with backpackers. I do recommend visitors to check out this place at least once when they are in Cat Ba island.
