Everything was lovely. The hotel is tucked away behind a small private road, which gives it a quiet and safe atmosphere away from the busy streets. The overall design and ambiance also gave me a subtle Japanese hotel vibe — calm, minimal, and relaxing. The staff were lovely, welcoming, and very attentive. You could tell they were well-trained and genuinely cared about the guest experience. The room was very comfortable — I especially loved the sofa, soft and cozy enough to just sink into after a long day. One small thing though: I couldn’t find pajamas or a hair comb in the room, so maybe the hotel could consider adding them. * The Flames Restaurant: Big thumbs up for the breakfast, especially the cakes. I honestly think they might have some of the best pastry chefs in town. The smoothies, however, were just okay and not very memorable — perhaps there’s room to invest a bit more in the beverage side (smoothies) or bartenders. Would definitely come back to Mercure again. Though to be fair, there’s not too much to explore around the area itself.

We frequently visit the hotel’s restaurant everytime we travel to Hai Phong. The menu is catered to Western cuisine which is my children’s favorite, the food here is great and the dessert is delightful. However, the biggest reason we go here everytime is because of their exceptional staff. They are extremely helpful and friendly. One staff named Quynh is very professional and supportive. She even took the time to look after our kids so we can finish our meals. Will definitely visit this restaurant again !

hank you, Mercure Hai Phong, for providing such a beautiful and professional venue for our Children’s Day workshop. The space was elegant, comfortable, and very suitable for young learners. We truly appreciated the warm support from the hotel team, which helped make our event smooth and memorable.

I needed a pair of pants cleaned urgently but it was after the stipulated time for same day laundry. The lady who picked up my call was apologetic but at first offered no alternatives. 3 mins later she called back to tell me housekeeping is coming up to my room to see if it could be cleaned quickly. I had a clean, fresh and laundered pants to continue the rest of my work trip because of this 1 lady who more than did her job. This happened on Tuesday afternoon between 2-3pm. Thank you for your service !

Stayed 2 nights . Checkin (located level 5) staff were friendly and efficient. Upgraded to studio apartment . Extra room facilities would be good if stay was longer. Room was clean and comfortable. Only issue is amount room between toilet and wall. Tall or larger person might struggle View was good looking across the city. Location was good especially come night as many street food vendors set up. Walking distance into central area of city or walk around lake located minutes away Hotel organised transfer to airport. Driver was waiting before arranged time.

Positives: the flame restaurant provides good food at very good value. Thang is very helpful and professional. I have stayed in Mercure over 10 times over the last few years and this time left me disappointed. I booked for 2 nights. Had to shorten my trip to 1 night. I asked the hotel not to try and get a refund but for example upgrade me to a higher grade room or convert the amount to F&B credit for example but Was promptly refused with 0 flexibility. Even with gold status, no upgrade was given upon check in as well. Rooms and furnishings are starting to look a little tired. There are many more newer hotels in Hai Phong now. Probably should start looking around the next time I need to come to Hai Phong.

The hotel is quite old. Breakfast was terrible. I arrived at about 8am but everything was empty. I understand that some trays maybe empty and need some time to be filled during breakfast, but it's quite unacceptable that most of the hot dish was empty at such an early hour, and at the same time. Moreover, the hotel only serves 2 bottle of water per day. That's so out of date since most of the hotels now are willing to serve more if needed. I was told to pay for extra water, and it's even not the branded and bottled one. I don't mind paying but it's not a good feeling at all. The staff was the best thing during my stay. They were really nice and helpful.

Have you heard that in a five-star rated hotel room and as a ustomer cannot change the AC temperature inside the room because it was controlled by the central unit? My room temperature was set at 21° c all day all night. And outside temperature was 28 or 29°. It was hot outside and very cold in my room. I ended up having a cold after two nights staying in this horrible room temperature hotel. The hotel engineer said the temperature was centrally controlled and he could not help me.Also, this five-star hotel does not even have a frontage. It is inside a small alley. The air flow inside the hotel is terrible.. the whole building is in a funny structural space. Overall I had a bad experience. I caught a cold after staying two nights in this centrally controlled room temperature at 21°, all day and all night. Spare me I will never go back.
