  Nam at Merry House was amazing!!! He was an absolute joy to meet and work with. We were not happy with our first room. Although it was lovely and had a beautiful view, we preferred a room that did not have the street below us. In a matter of minutes he was able to find the perfect room for us without making us feel foolish. Thank you Nam!!!!! We had an absolute blast on a food tour with him. Thank you Nam, for spending the day with us and showing us around your town and all its delicious food!!! Your kindness and enthusiasm is contagious! We absolutely loved our spacious, clean room and even did our laundry!!!!! There was a rack to hang clothes to dry or we could dry them in the washer/dryer. Moments from the apartment is a street FULL of delicious foods to choose from.

  Let's review! Well, nice host, though the fridge of the apt has smell but it's not too bad. The services of coffee, motorbike renting and others are promptly good. It's also easy to access to the CBD area.

  Well equipped and well maintained apartments. I’ve been staying here every year for 1-2 months for the last 5 years. Amazing staff. Daily cleaning. Nothing to complain.

  I had a great stay at Merry House and really liked the area. What stands out however is the service. Đạt went above and beyond to help me get to Cat Ba, from ordering the ticket to telling them (in Vietnamese) where to drop me off etc, making my trip easy. He even made suggestions on Lan Ha bay tours. This is true customer service and I’ll be back if I’m ever in Haiphong again.

  What we like: The staff were polite and accommodating. One of their staff members was very attentive to our needs, he was so quick to provide us with glasses of cold water - which we appreciate very much! They got us the motorbike we needed to use. Generally, the room was clean except the bathroom and the kitchen materials. The room is fully equipped with a large fridge stuffed with beverages and ice cream, a wide-screened TV with Netflix capabilty (you need to use your Netflix account though), a kitchen sink with built-in induction cooker, a microwave oven, and a front-loading fully automatic washing machine which was really such a convenience for us! Their bed was huge, enough for a couple. They also have an automatic bidet seat and a bath tub. Plus, the view outside our room was breathtaking. Its location is a huge plus, which is near Vincom Mall. Overall, it was such a great experience and we would surely go back on our next trip to Hai Phong City! What we dislike: There were some black spots along the grouts near the bath tub, seems like molds or something. I also notice that some silverwares (spoons, forks, and ladles) were not properly washed and the dishwashing sponge was kind of dirty to use. On our last day, the elevator was not functioning and we were at the top floor of the building. I had to climb the stairs in going to our room. There was a confusion about the free breakfast as Booking.com's Genius member. The staff stated that breakfast isn't free without checking my itinerary, but later on he apologized and corrected that breakfast is really free.

  I upgraded my reservation by paying an extra fee, but it turned out to be different from what I saw on the website, which was a bit confusing. If I hadn’t upgraded, the room would have felt too cramped. It has a Korean condo vibe. The facilities are a bit old, but it’s clean and there are no bugs. The first night, there was a smell from the blanket, but it got better the next day. The cleaning time changes every day. Last night, there was loud music playing, which was annoying.

  Nice serviced apartments in a nice tourist centric area. However, I didn't appreciate being hassled to cancel my booking so that they didn't have to pay the agent fee. We were told they would upgrade us, but we got what we had booked. Also, after 1 night we were asked to move to a different apartment.

  Place was superficially clean but still had quite a bit of mold around the shower. Not sure why it’s so hard to take a little bleach and make sure it’s at least visibly clean. Not really a problem for a guy but my partner did not appreciate it very much. I probably will be looking for different accommodations if I need them again.
