  amazing atmosphere, super chill vibes, great coffee, and friendly staff! got their egg coffee. egg cream is sweet, light and fluffy! perfectly balances the bitterness of the coffee and tastes amazing! also got to try their spiced coffee and really liked the interesting flavour! came to clear a bit of work and the ambience was perfect to lock in! nice decor, not noisy, and with light music playing in the background will definitely come again!

  cute little coffee place located at a quiet alley in vietnam :) service was amazing - got free tea & coffee shots! the banh mi was superb, warm, filling and delicious. the garlic chilli sauce was amazing to dip. the salt coffee is a must try!!! the salt foam is frothy, balances out the bitterness and acidity of the coffee. highly recommend for a quick stop to chill🩷🩷🩷🩷

  In my opinion they have the BEST egg coffee here in HCMC omg it’s so so so good delicious creamy amazing brilliant spectacular wonderful every time I come to HCMC I make sure to come here. Their banh mi is bussin too I like that it’s just the right size so you don’t feel super full after you eat. Super chill place to just sit down and lock in for some work or study too. Highly recommended!

  This is honestly one of my favorite Tonkin branches 😌 The café has two floors and the overall space is designed really well. On the ground floor, there’s an outdoor seating area and also a separate space at the back that’s suitable for workshops or group activities. In the middle area, there’s a designated smoking section. The second floor has a similar setup too, with both indoor and outdoor seating options, so there are plenty of choices depending on your mood. What I personally love most about this branch is the atmosphere. The entire café is filled with greenery and plants everywhere, making the space feel fresh, calming, and very cozy. The decorations are simple but cute, and overall the café has a peaceful vibe without trying too hard. The drink menu here is EXTREMELY diverse 😭 There are honestly so many choices. At first, I came planning to try egg coffee, but after looking through the menu, I got distracted and decided to order sesame coffee instead because I had tried a really memorable version of it once in Huế. Of course, the sesame coffee here can’t fully compare to the Huế version in my memory 😅 but honestly, it was still very good and I was genuinely satisfied with it. I also tried the roselle tea (red hibiscus/artichoke tea), and that one was really refreshing and delicious too. Overall, the drinks here are genuinely good — not just “pretty café drinks” but actually enjoyable. They also have a food menu available, which makes the place even more convenient if you want to stay for a long time. Another thing I really appreciate is how peaceful the environment feels. The café is spacious, airy, and surprisingly quiet. The soundproofing is pretty good, customers aren’t overly crowded, and even when people are talking, everyone naturally keeps their voices soft, so the atmosphere stays comfortable and relaxing. The staff here are also super sweet and enthusiastic 😌 Really friendly and helpful throughout the whole experience. One detail I personally liked — and something that’s becoming rarer nowadays — is that you pay after finishing your drinks instead of paying immediately when ordering. Somehow it makes the experience feel more relaxed and comfortable. A huge plus is that they also have private rooms available for workshops or meetings. The rooms are equipped with whiteboards, projectors, and sound systems, so the café feels multifunctional rather than just a normal coffee shop. Overall, I highly, highly recommend this place. It’s suitable for working, studying, workshops, meetings, casual catch-ups, or even bringing foreign friends and business partners. The atmosphere, drinks, and service all make it feel like a really well-thought-out café experience 😌

  Enjoyed the Egg Cream Vietnamese Coffee. It felt like affogato but replaced with meringue made out off egg cream. Salt cream coffee was yummy too. Background olden french jazz music also helped with making the chill session, really chill.

  Tonkin Garden’s one of the best cafes to try in Vietnam for sure! Food’s really tasty and the drinks.. wow, just wow. Y’all should order their signature Vietnamese Egg Coffee. The staff were so kind and accommodating and the whole vibe was just so cozy and relaxing. Will definitely come back here the next time we visit Vietnam 👍

  If I could give zero I would. I honestly don’t understand how on earth this place have nearly 3k 5* reviews… like people can’t be honest nowadays. We wanted to have a really good coffee before leaving Vietnam on our last day so I trusted the good reviews and came to this place, very very unfortunately!!! The portions are INSANELY SMALL to a point where you’re literally not drinking anything but have a tiny sip of coffee or chocolate… and the prices really don’t reflect the quality nor the size. My egg foam chocolate was ridiculous! A tiny cup of chocolate and a cup of foam that didn’t taste anything like egg! My friend wanted to have a simple Vietnamese coffee (coffee with condensed milk) and they said they can’t do it, then I was like if you have coffee and condensed milk in stock you surely can… after 10 minutes of explaining that she wanted the most common coffee in Vietnam she got a half cup of something that had no condensed milk in it. It’s hilarious that you need to explain what a Vietnamese coffee is to a barista in Vietnam. I’m utterly disappointed that this was my last coffee experience in Vietnam. Anyone who goes here: please leave an honest review and don’t hype up a place that doesn’t deserve it!!!
