For all my foodie treasure hunters, find this beautiful café in the middle of the city. Service is A+++ from the moment you arrive at the door. Come upstairs to the second floor for their Egg Cream coffee 🤤 foamy sweet after meal dream! We were greated with a cool tea while we ordered. Try the Hibiscus tea with salted kumquat... to die for 😍

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Absolutely loved this place! The food and drinks were delicious, and everything on the menu was well prepared. The service was excellent — from the cashier to the staff serving us, everyone was professional, friendly, and welcoming. The atmosphere in the morning was amazing. Enjoying a cup of coffee in Vietnam City created such an unforgettable moment before heading back home. Thank you for making my day extra special. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾 If you’re visiting, make sure to walk inside and head upstairs for a better experience. Highly recommend trying the egg coffee and salted egg croissants 🥐 — 10/10!

Wish we had found this place on day one! One of the best egg coffee's to be had here. The staff were very nice, the decor very cool, the ambience relaxing. We came in the morning - I think we were the first there and didn't see anyone else come in until we left. I found a lot of cafes open later than most in Australia - I'm an early riser so need my coffee hit early too. It was just a really nice peaceful vibe here. I fell in love with egg coffee in Vietnam and this place serves one of the best - please try it at least once. We were staying just round the corner at California Saigon Hotel so this was a convenient cafe for us.

Food was great. I ordered the salted coffee, salted egg croissant , chicken and cheese baguette. I dipped my salted egg croissant into the coffee. Such a perfect combination! Great service, friendly staffs. Although I came in the noon and its abit hot and stuffy. But everything else was really wonderful! Recommended. Thumbs up guys

We almost missed the entrance to this coffee shop, but glad we found it. Unconventional entrance, youll find it on the second floor of a small residential building. The coffee shop itself speaks vietnam vibes. I loved their black coffee, pure vietnam robusta but made very clean and palatable. Their egg coffee was also good, highly suggest!

Tonkin Cottage is a hidden gem that’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. You’ll find it tucked away up a flight of stairs on the second floor. The ambiance is very intimate and cozy, making it a great spot to relax. The coffee is excellent. I tried the Egg Cream Coffee and it felt more like a rich dessert than just a drink—perfect if you have a sweet tooth like I do. I’ve heard the salt coffee is amazing as well, so I’ll have to come back for that. I’m giving it 4 stars because the service was quite slow during my visit. It took a while for the staff to notice me, take my order, and get the table wiped down. Overall though, the quality of the coffee makes it worth the climb!

This coffee shop is tucked inside a small alleyway building, giving it an authentic hidden-gem vibe and it truly feels like one. The ambiance captures a very local Vietnamese charm, making the experience even more memorable. The egg coffee was the real standout. It was perfectly portioned, soft, creamy, and incredibly satisfying definitely something I would order again if given the chance. Their regular coffee is also strong and flavorful, though the serving size feels a bit small for the price. Service was okay, nothing particularly notable, but the quality of the egg coffee alone makes this place worth visiting.

The egg coffee was decent, though I prefer the classic way of served hot. There's another place that's just around the corner which is much better. The atmosphere is ok, we sat in a little room in the back. The music was old fashioned and quaint and a little loud but still a decent atmosphere (although the Aircon was dripping water loudly into a bucket). The real downfall of this place was the service. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with wait staff in a cafe. Incredibly indescribably just ...awkward 😅 the guy that took our order had absolutely no social skills and was very unpleasant to interact with. When I had to take a drink back it was also extremely awkward and they wouldn't let my girlfriend change for another one despite the fact that they hadn't explained it to her properly (he told her it was just coconut water and coffee but it came with cumquat inside and was a horrible flavour). They refused to change it for something else and instead made her another one the same without the cumquat. Also they didn't bring us the welcome tea they everyone else had until I'd asked 3 times. Sad because this place has potential, they just need to train their staff better because a few of them are a TERRIBLE vibe and really ruin it. Won't be going back.
