  Stayed at this hostel both times I was in ho chi minh and I only have good things to say, the facilities are amazing vibes are perfect for any traveller and the staff are super helpful! I especially would like to mention ken who was a big help for us and helped us book tours and buses!

  location is near all the hotspots, rooms are clean, hostel has a great social environment and staff are super friendly and helpful ! cant recommend enough :))

  Great hostel, nice comfy beds and good facilities plus the staff are great fun always up for a laugh would defo recommend staying here, also ken is the absolute dream aswell shoutout to him

  Amazing stay at Base Backpackers Hostel! The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, which made a huge difference after long travel days. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations or bookings — they really make you feel at home. Special shout out to Alix, Kan, Ken and Phoebe who are legends! The tours and activities were fantastic, well-organized, and a great way to meet other travelers while exploring the area. The overall vibe of the hostel is social, fun, and relaxed, but still perfect for getting a good night’s sleep. I’d 100% recommend Base Backpackers to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and fun place to stay. I’d definitely come back!

  I had a great experience at Base Backpackers, I read some of the lower scored reviews and didn't experience anything that was mentioned. AC in the rooms was brisk (feels nice after getting in from a 35 Celcius day). Wifi was fast (this was a pleasant surprise). Would stay here again, felt like a good mix of party/social and chill.

  Overall it is decent, the rooms are good, bathrooms are good. Was quite loud however through the halls, could hear people walking up and down the stairs. Not much of a social hostel, but good location.

  Good value and decent rooms. You also get a full and reasonably sized bathroom to yourself including the shower which is nice for a hostel. There are plenty of bathrooms too. Free beers in the evening is a nice touch also. Laundry is good here too

  Don't recommend booking buses with them: payed 770k for a sleeper bus to Phnom Penh, yet got shuttled to a normal one!! The bus smells, is really dark and the window is covered with a foil that does not allow to enjoy the views. I was the only foreigner, which also seemed a bit suspicious. The rooms itself were fine. I joined the pub crawl and noticed that after a couple of affordable places where they were serving free shots, they eventually took the crowd to overpriced places (85k for a tiger beer in a can??)
