I had such a great time at this hostel! such incredibly kind and helpful staff who became friends by the end of my 4 days here! (miss you already Albert!) perfect location in the coolest neighbourhood in town and quiet and peaceful at night i also met other likeminded travellers here who preferred a more chill time away from the chaos of D1! me and Lai (black and white cat) had a particularly strong bond as he slept in my bed most nights🥹 so nice to come home to a house full of animals every day. I wish you guys all the best for the future and will absolutely stay here again when i return to Saigon. you turned a difficult and overwhelming time in a big city into one of my favourite stops in the whole of Vietnam !

I 100% would recommend staying here. I was here in June. It’s located on a quiet neighbourhood in Binh Thanh, and you can easily get a Grab bike to and fro. Nice and responsive staff, even gave me food recommendation. Stayed in the private room with a window (nice natural lighting). Clean and comfortable beds and toilet. Nice bars within few min walk, street food, pharmacy, convenience store nearby. Bonus: There are 2 resident cats and one dog which was lovely. 🐶🐱My only constructive feedback is that the floors and shelves were a little dusty when I was there, and the aircon started leaking the second night I was there which can be a little distracting. I will still give it a 5 star nonetheless as these were not major for me. 🙂

Super nice Hostel and coffee! We really enjoyed staying here :) The beds where super cozy and the dorm was quiet. Also the Team was super friendly and gave us many tips around the area and about Ho Chi Minh City. The bathroom was also good but could need a deep cleaning! We would definitely come back!

The attention received from the owner was warm and welcoming. The hostel has a calm and comfortable atmosphere, and their pets made the stay even better — seeing them upon arrival is the best welcome a hostel could offer. My only suggestion is regarding cleanliness. We stayed in a shared room for one night, and the bathroom was quite dirty — there was mould and grime on the shower walls and behind the sink, urine around the toilet seat, a full bin, lots of hair on the floor, and the glass in the shower area was stained and unclean. Even though it’s a shared space, it’s unpleasant to take a shower in a bathroom like that. I’m sure that if the hostel improves this aspect, it would make for a 10/10 stay.

Half Coffee N Dorm is such a peaceful little gem in Ho Chi Minh City. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after the busy streets of the city. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and feels more like a home than a hostel. One of the highlights is definitely the animals — they’re incredibly friendly and add so much warmth and character to the place. Having them around makes the hostel feel welcoming and comforting, like you’re staying with friends rather than just passing through. On top of all that, it’s very cheap for what you get, making it amazing value for money. If you’re looking for a quiet, homely, and budget-friendly stay with a unique vibe, I can’t recommend Half Coffee N Dorm enough.

Good place to stay for solo travel. Safe and clean. Dog and Cats so lovely . The friendliest staff and cutest pets! Everyone there is so nice and makes you feel like home. Best place in Ho Chi Minh City to relax after spending a day in the crowded city. I stayed there 6 nights and I was sad to leave. Would 100% come back!

I stayed for a short weekend trip, arrived late (~8pm) on Friday and left early (~6/7am) on Monday. As this was a short trip because I came to watch the VCT Pacific finals in HCMC, it was a great location for acommos. Within DIstrict 1 + being near the airport (by car at 7am+, i reached airport in 30mins), perfect location for my needs.Ther service was absolutely disappointing considering how warm Hostels normally are. The guy that was around on both days, basically just dgaf about anyone that comes or hangs out in the common area and plays music and sings it really loudly at the bar counter while shaking his leg and using his phone. Not saying he needs to do anything other than saying Hi maybe (which he never did the 4 days 3 nights i was there), but like sit properly....???On Monday morning when i was leaving, i went down around 6am as i had grab ordered breakfast, its was hot and stale because the windows were not open, you cant open the door bc of the pets, and the only fan in the lobby was facing the guy who was sleeping in the common area lol. I look around for a fan or a remote to on the aircon as there was no ventilation at all, and he said "you cannot on the aircon, we are not opened yet" - this was 6.50am. I've never heard of a hostel having "opening hours"? Unmanned hours yes, but even during unmanned hours, fans and lights and electricity at the minimum is turned on in the lobby. Service was absolutely awful during my stay and i would prefer to opt for somewhere similar instead my next trip because its not hostel friendly at all.The pets were really cute, toilet was fairly clean and I like having a quilt as a blanket in a hostel. The double deck stairs to the upper bunk was not very functional but not the biggest issue for me as it was a short stay. Service was the worse.
