Stayed here for 3 nights, the aircon in one of the rooms gave up but the staff of the hostel immediately changed me to a better room and compensated me when i checked out for the inconvenience. Good social hostel with breakfast and a free towel included in the center of the city.

I had the most wonderful time staying at this hostel! Ales, Mia, and Harry are just a few of the amazing staff working here who helped and supported me every step of the way - from arrival times to booking they are super responsive and so happy to help with anything! I came here twice after travelling Vietnam and genuinely looked so forward to returning to see these beautiful, smiling faces. I would recommend to anyone hoping for a clean, peaceful stay in Saigon. Thankyou 1979 team!

Loved staying at this hostel! I arrived early around 10:30 AM and was given free breakfast even though check-in was at 2 PM. I was originally assigned to a different room, but they kindly moved me to an all-girls room, which felt safe and comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean, with daily cleaning and fresh towels provided. Breakfast was great, choice of noodles or bread with egg, fruits, and iced coffee or water. Staff were helpful and friendly. They even offer free beer/water daily.

Great first stop in Vietnam and is in a good location, all staff speak great English and are very helpful. Also big shout out to Sam for his immaculate use of British slang and football knowledge

My favorite hostel in Vietnam hands down. I arrived pretty early in the morning exhausted from an overnight sleeper bus and Ken greeted me with such warmness. Even though it was around 6am, he offered me a bottle of water, a shower, and a hammock to rest in before breakfast started. Not only that, the other staff members (Steve and Victory) were all so sweet and friendly I felt it truly made the entire vibe of the hostel. The rooftop was very social but not too much. I met some of the coolest nicest people who were staying there as well that I hope to keep in touch and maintain friendships with!

Really friendly staff, always there to help you. The rooms are very clean and all have ac so are kept nice and cool. The free breakfast is delicious and it’s ideally located. The beds could be slightly more comfortable but overall fine.

We only stayed here for a couple of nights but it was clean, social and good value! The receptionist Alex was so lovely and has even been trying to help me get back my phone I left in a grab whilst I'm in Thailand! I can't believe how much effort and kindness they have put into my stupid mistake and it's a true example of how wonderful Vietnam is as a people and a country! Thank you Alex you are a legend and a wonderful human ☺️

I stayed here during the first week of September. The atmosphere is welcoming and the room I stayed in was nice. In addition, my room mates were social and friendly. To add to this, the staff members were personable and helpful. I’d definitely recommend this location to stay if you visit Ho Chi Minh as it’s in a good central location near to various attractions.
