originally booked the 10-bed dorm, but ended up in a 4-bed room with a private bathroom instead. The rooms are really spacious, and everyone gets their own locker that can be locked. There’s air conditioning, and overall it was very quiet and clean. I also got free breakfast through Booking. It wasn’t anything mind-blowing, but for a free breakfast and the price you pay per night here, I really can’t complain. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay. The price-performance ratio is great, the location of the hostel is super convenient, and I would definitely come back. Thanks!

Great value hostel! Location is right in the center. The staff speak good English, are very friendly and helpful. Special greet to Fon, Lin, My and Tuan. Hostel is clean and the balcony is nice. I recommend.

Update: I'm giving 5 stars now instead of 4 because the one thing I said is that the hostel just needs a refresh and literally the next day there is an entire crew here putting up a fresh coat of paint on all the walls. It's looking so much better and brighter! Impressive! Plus now that I've spent some time here, I realize all my needs are met and this place is everything it should be! 👏🏽 This hostel is not particularly tidy nor nicely decorated but it is a decent place to stay for a low price. - The bed is comfortable enough. - A/C is not too hot or cold, just right. - The privacy of the beds with curtains and bathrooms was sufficient. - Staff are nice and helpful. - The breakfast is actually pretty good (eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, meat), but I didn't like the sausage. - No issues with the wifi The best part is the location as it's central and there are so many amazing cafes and restaurants around, very walkable! I would be happy to give them 5 stars but the place needs a good tidy and some interior design help, basically an update and a good refresh before it's 5 stars.

I stayed 10 months in this hostel, so let's say I know what I'm talking about. The staff is super friendly, fluent in English, professional and very helpful. The hostel is well managed, cleaned daily and they never stop improving. The laundry service is very decent and cheap. Rooms have lockers, curtains and good mattresses. Bathroom are functional and well maintained. There is a dedicated place to have breakfast, common space as well, where it's allowed to smoke and also a rooftop where you can chat with your friends surrounded by plants. WiFi on every floors, working perfectly fine. Regarding the cheap price and the service provided, I could say this is among the best in the city. If anyone complains about this place, it's either because they should get a private room in a 4 stars hotel or had a bad experience because of some travelers being messy, noisy, dirty or disrespectful. Don't ask me twice, I recommend 💯

Pros: Near popular landmarks. They have helpful information. They don't rush to take your money. The only hostel in Southeast Asia that lent me free towels and gives shampoo and body wash. The locker is big too. Staff are very friendly. Cons: The electricity in my bunkbed keeps going out in the middle of the night, so I can't charge my phone while sleeping. Plus, they put me on the 4th floor (3rd floor in Vietnam), and there was no lift. It's really tiring to climb the stairs. The common area and reception couches are dirty.

Pros: The hostel is located in the heart of the city (district 1). Beds are comfortable and toilets are clean. All the staffs are good and friendly specially Linh who is very supportive and takes care of the all the guests. Cons: The air conditioning doesn't work properly as 1 A.C for 8 beds isn't sufficient here. Maybe it requires servicing. Even after complaining 10 times, they couldn't fix it.

The photos don't resemble reality. I stayed at Vy Da Backpacker Hostel, and while the hostel has potential, my experience was disappointing. The building has three floors and no elevator. If you are traveling with large or heavy luggage, you will likely have difficulty carrying it upstairs. This is something to keep in mind before booking. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a major issue during my stay. I arrived late and very tired, so I didn’t check the bed sheets before going to sleep. The next morning, I realized I had slept on dirty sheets with visible stains. I don’t want to directly blame the hostel management, but clearly whoever was responsible for preparing the bed did not properly change or clean the sheets from the previous guest — there really isn’t another explanation. Another common issue in this type of hostel is that some long-term guests start acting like they “own” the room. They take over the space, leave their belongings everywhere, and often maintain poor hygiene. Some even eat on the beds, and the smell of food lingers in the room, making the environment uncomfortable for others. It’s a shame because the hostel has potential, but better cleaning standards and improved room management would make a big difference.

I tried to walk in at 1PM hoping to get a place where I could leave my stuff because my flight is at 1AM (I left my initial worst hotel in 15B Anne Home Le Than Ton on the last day). I haven’t got a chance to stay in their bed because I told the receptionist that I’ll be leaving in a couple of hours, after hearing that, she offered to nest my luggages without a charge, and even offered for a shower and free towel. So yeah, I didn’t spend a single penny, I offered to pay but they refuse. This hostel is strategically located near almost every tourist spots. The staff is accommodating, jolly and friendly. Does not rip you off and willing to help you without any cost! This is the first time I’ve experienced that kind of services in my entire life! I promise to go back and stay in Vy Da! This hostel deserves more than just a good feedback. So, if you’re thinking where to stay? This hostel is highly recommended!
