Great service to accommodate our vegan diet at breakfast, thanks to the culinary team and serving staff! Thanks. Spacious, a bit worn-out room for a Superior type, balcony view to the breakfast garden (considered no view per the hotel receptionist, but okay for us), a bit far to walk to at first, but we got used to it. Shower water temperature and pressure vary. Staff helps to transfer the luggage to our rooms upon arrival. Good room service, a few reminders to stock up, but flexible enough to deliver an ice bucket to our room during the evening. One small period of electricity loss on our last day due to an old kettle, but a new kettle was replaced promptly, and electricity was restored. Friendly and courteous staff generally. Central location in the first district. Open-air breakfast buffet area with birds, a few trees, and plants: phenomenal environment and experience when you wake up. Moderately expensive charge for common Vietnamese population, affordable for tourists from developed countries. Sauna and steam bath available free of charge for hotel customers. Tourist bus and the city's opera theater up front. Overall, we recommend the hotel for the tourists visiting Sai Gon. We are pleased with our stay.

Thank for the wonderful stay, Hotel Continental team! Really enjoyed the historical significance of the hotel and the effort that is being put into this building to keep as authentic to the original as possible. That being said, rooms are outfitted with their own AC unit, wifi, TV, and modern outlets. The location is probably the best part of this hotel, as you're right next to the Saigon Opera House, about 5 walking minutes from a Vincom mall, about 6 walking minutes from the train station, about 10-15 minutes to the Ben Trahn market, same for the Saigon Post Office. There's also a sightseeing tour bus vendor just right outside the main entrance. Breakfast was good with a mix of western and eastern choices, as well as a good mix of protein and carbs. Thanks again, I hope to visit again soon.

The suite I was upgraded to was amazing. Such a beautiful hotel with wonderful ambience and history. Large rooms and staircases. Everything you would want from a grand old hotel. The only reason I would not give it a five star all round is that the water pressure was more of a trickle in my room. Still - I’d definitely stay again!!!

The hotel room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. A complimentary fruit basket and bottled water were provided, which was a nice touch. The staff were polite, friendly, and always willing to help. However, I am giving this hotel 3 stars because of a major issue with my room door lock. On the second day of my stay, the lock malfunctioned and I was locked out of my room on three separate occasions, once after breakfast, again in the afternoon after my conference, and a third time at night. Each time, I was unable to enter my room and had to seek assistance from the hotel staff. The first incident was resolved quickly with the assistance of a maintenance staff. The second time took about 15 minutes, and the lock battery was replaced. Unfortunately, the problem occurred again later that night, and this final incident was particularly frustrating, as it took nearly 45 minutes to resolve. Eventually, the hotel decided to replace the entire lock. While I appreciate the efforts of the staff and enjoyed the room itself, being locked out of my room three times in a single day caused significant inconvenience and disrupted my stay. For that reason, I can only give this hotel 3 stars.

Booked a stay in 5/8/25 on well known booking site for stay of 3 nights (5-8/2/26) in Opera view room. Messaged hotel on 14/10/25 as I realise that the confirmation was not for couple. I arrival on 4/2/26 as I had booked one night in advance of original booking - was informed that I needed to pay US$30 extra per night for the original booked room. Seems hotel is maximising income - even though booking states maximum number of guest allowed is the room capacity.

Only the location is truly excellent. This hotel suits guests who love the film Indochine or appreciate a very classic, colonial style. Considering cost performance, the price is reasonable — about USD 150 for an opera-view room. However, I had issues at check-in with Agoda, and the reception staff was not helpful. They said my room was upgraded, but it was the same 48 sqm room I had originally booked. Make sure to enter the correct number of guests when booking. I mistakenly booked for one person per room, and they charged an additional USD 15 per room for the extra person, likely for breakfast. The location is excellent, and the terrace has a very colonial atmosphere. However, I experienced some allergies during my stay — possibly due to insect bites. The bed sheets felt dry and not up to a five-star standard.

Very good stayOverall, everything was good. The hotel has an excellent location, very convenient for exploring Saigon. The facilities were also very nice, comfortable, and well maintained. A pleasant stay, and I would be happy to return.

Centrally located and steeped in history, this property—built in 1880—has been well maintained over the years. Its proximity to major tourist attractions makes it an excellent base for exploring the city. The restaurant offers an impressive breakfast spread with a wide variety of options. The staff are warm and courteous, and the food quality is consistently good. While most aspects of the hotel are well kept, certain furnishings, such as cupboards, would benefit from some attention. The bell desk team was particularly helpful, assisting us efficiently with cab bookings and coordinating with drivers.
