  I've studied with this school at both branches, for about 6 months, just once a week, starting in an elementary group and then deciding to go one on one. I love it! My teacher is so friendly and understanding and she is very good at engaging me in conversation even though I know my pronunciation sucks. I'm amazed how much I've learned in what seems like a very short space of time, after several years and several false starts previously. Would recommend to anyone!

  I have been studying with this amazing school for more than 3 years and as I have a Vietnamese wife I've been able to test my progress out with my extended Vietnamese family and have some great results. I'm really thankful for the service from Annie and the team. I cannot understand how anyone could possibly give a one star review. It's just beyond me as the school is truly amazing

  You might think so these 5 star reviews are fake. Like Annie just gave discounts or free lessons to get them. But I promise you the stars are real. This is the best language school in southeast asia. Maybe the best in the whole world; I can only comment on language schools where I have studied tho

  I would really recommend this school. I studied 40 hours with Thinh. He is a fantastic teacher - really encouraging, patient and explains things very clearly. I've also been very impressed with the books and online materials, they are really thoughtfully put together.

  When I started my Vietnamese lessons with Annie about one year and a half ago, I was a seriously bad Vietnamese speaker. My verbal skills were poor and I was prone to freezing embarrassment. With the help of Annie, I've become much better and have developed a lot of confidence in my conversation skills. Annie clearly plans out her lessons--throughout our many sessions, I've never once felt that she was unprepared. Her lessons could consist of: - Talking about the past week - Asking about and describing past experiences - Explaining certain subjects (such as how something works) - Expressing opinions - Discussing a particular podcast episode (podcasts could be any kind of subject such as romance or investing) - Word games So obviously everything she's taught me has been practical. Her sessions always feel like a comfortable place to express myself in Vietnamese which is great. And the whole time, she has been keen to point out all of my errors whether grammar or pronunciation related. In the beginning, I remember she even refused to speak english with me so that I could learn as fast as possible. Thanks to her lessons, I would describe myself as having become a lower-intermediate level Vietnamese speaker. She's also a relatable person, so I seriously enjoy the conversations that we have! I've been taking online one-on-one Skype lessons with Annie on a weekly basis for about 1.5 years.

  Probably the best Vietnamese school in Saigon. If you are living here in the south, please dont waste time learning "Hanoi-ese" online. Annies classes are small, informative, intuitive and just great. Annie herself is also a super friendly and very smart young lady. For what you get its not at all expensive. Totally worth my money. Im just sorry i dont have time to follow up with the next class…. :-)

  I have been using the Learn Vietnamese With Annie podcast since it was first started. I find understanding spoken Vietnamese to be the hardest part of learning the language. The podcast has been very helpful for working on my ability to understand what I hear. There are “elementary” and “intermediate” level podcasts. The dialogues are not artificial sounding text book style dialogues. They use Vietnamese as it is actually spoken by Vietnamese people. The dialogues often include some slang and other informal language that you won’t find in a textbook. In the dialogues they speak clearly and slowly enough that you can follow along but not so slow that it sounds artificial and boring. I think it fills a void that existed between the beginner dialogues that you find in most textbook and CD courses and trying to watch YouTube videos or movies where they’re speaking too fast and it’s nearly impossible for a student to understand and get anything out of watching. In addition, there is an instructional segment where Annie and Jack go over the dialogue and explain vocabulary and grammar points. Recently, a written grammar summary and practice exercises have been added. There’s also a written transcript of the dialogue and a vocabulary list that can be printed out. Each podcast can be streamed or downloaded. I usually use the streaming option and I’ve never had any trouble with the audio not playing. I think this is a great resource for studying Vietnamese. The dialogues use the southern Vietnamese accent but even if you’re learning the northern accent, I still think the podcast will be useful. It’s good to be familiar with both the southern and northern pronunciations. For the amount of new material you get each week, I think it’s very inexpensive and definitely worth it. I wish I had something like this a few years ago. I think it’s a must-have resource if you’re learning Vietnamese.
