  Great school. Great staff. The teachers were very accommodating during our short time in Vietnam. My 2 sons learned a lot of Vietnamese in the two weeks we were enrolled.

  I started my beginner Vietnamese course with Cô Oanh, and the progress I’ve made in a short time has honestly surprised me. Her teaching style is patient, encouraging, and very easy to follow, especially for someone starting from scratch. What I appreciate most is that she adapts to my learning pace instead of rushing through lessons. She takes the time to make sure I truly understand pronunciation, sentence structure, and everyday usage before moving forward. She also creates a comfortable environment where asking questions never feels intimidating. Each class feels structured, practical, and engaging, and I’ve gained much more confidence speaking and understanding Vietnamese in daily situations. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a supportive and effective Vietnamese teacher, whether you’re a complete beginner or trying to improve your conversational skills.

  My journey at VLS has been filled with many challenges, but looking back, those challenges have become some of my proudest milestones. Learning a language is not only about vocabulary and grammar. It is about stepping outside your comfort zone and being willing to make mistakes. Because of VLS, I was able to give a wedding speech in Vietnamese. On one side of the room people were crying, on the other side people were laughing, and somewhere in the middle there was a group of people who had absolutely no idea what I was saying. That felt completely normal and, to me, it felt like progress. Another unforgettable milestone was giving a tour around a war museum. I spent an entire week learning vocabulary and emotionally connecting with the words I was using so I could explain the exhibits to visitors. My Vietnamese cried, hopefully for not butchering her language, of course. Naturally, my teacher was incredibly patient with me, and it remains one of the most meaningful experiences of my journey in Vietnam. I later took a long break from studying and felt quite guilty about it. I felt like I had given up. So, when I eventually returned, life had become overwhelming. I was overworked, juggling work commitments and studying for my master's degree at the same time. What stood out to me was that VLS welcomed me back with open arms. There was no pressure or judgment, only patience and support. As I continued learning, I started noticing Vietnamese words everywhere, especially in my work. Recently, I have been editing videos for Nord Anglia schools and I kept seeing the same topic specific vocabulary appearing again and again. I suddenly realised that my reading ability in Vietnamese had improved far more than I had expected. One surprising thing I discovered through studying Vietnamese was a love for writing. Learning a new language made me appreciate words differently. I started paying more attention to how ideas are expressed, how emotions are communicated, and how language can connect people in meaningful ways. My teacher has reminded me that Vietnamese is an emotional language. I do not know if I will ever become a fluent Vietnamese speaker. If I do have limitations, they come from my own mindset rather than the teaching or methods at VLS. The school has always encouraged me to keep going. I highly recommend VLS. If you are willing to embrace the culture, accept that mistakes are part of the process, and challenge yourself, then VLS is a great place to learn. You may surprise yourself with what you are capable of. As my American friend who is fluent in Vietnamese, once said, just don't take about embarrassing yourself. Just do it.

  I feel so lucky to have found this language school for my long term travels in Vietnam. From the start, Lâm was so helpful in helping me choose the course that was suitable for my beginner level and goals with learning. I was able to pick a flexible package that allowed for virtual and in-person lessons. My instructor Cô Châu is patient, kind, and always incorporates my personal interests into our lessons which make them more interesting and easier to grasp. She has incorporated field trips into our lessons so I have the opportunity for real world practice with her guidance. The D7 office itself is clean, quiet, and beautiful. I’m happy to make the commute from Bình Thạnh 3x per week for my lessons. Thank you D7 team for everything! I would highly recommend this language school for a wide range of levels of Viet language learners.

  I’ve been taking private online Vietnamese lessons with VLS for over a year now and it has been a really great experience. Even though I don’t live in Vietnam, the online format works very smoothly and it’s easy to stay consistent with lessons. My teacher is very patient and helpful, especially with pronunciation and tones, which can be one of the hardest parts of learning Vietnamese. We spend a lot of time practicing real conversations, which has helped me feel much more comfortable speaking and understanding the language. I also appreciate that the lessons include cultural context, not just vocabulary and grammar. The classes are flexible and personalized to my level and goals, which has helped me make steady progress. I would definitely recommend VLS to anyone interested in learning Vietnamese, even if you are studying from outside Vietnam.

  I've been taking Vietnamese classes here and I'm really enjoying the experience. My teacher Thu is fantastic — patient, encouraging, and great at making the lessons both practical and engaging. As an expat living in Ho Chi Minh City, being able to pick up the language has made such a difference to daily life, and Thu has been a huge part of that. The classes are well-structured and I always leave feeling like I've genuinely progressed. Highly recommend to anyone looking to learn Vietnamese, whether you're a complete beginner or looking to improve. Highly recommend!

  I highly recommend this school to learn Vietnamesse. The staff are incredibly kind and friendly, always willing to practice the language with the students. Our teacher Hiệp makes the lessons fun, entertaining and easy to follow, not to mention his professionalism preparing the lessons. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and culture.

  As an international university student, I have been taking lessons here for a few months now. My goal was to improve my Vietnamese in a professional context and to gain a deeper understanding, hopefully to start working here. My experience with cô Hoa so far has been very rewarding, after just a few sessions she adjusted to my personal learning preferences and needs, and the material that we use to learn is quite meaningful and realistic. I realized I am not just learning a lot about the Vietnamese language but the culture and how it compares to the world. Compared to when I started, I have felt the difference in my speaking proficiency and confidence. She is very charming, knowledgable, and makes learning feel natural, I really recommend!
