  I’ve had a very positive experience studying Vietnamese at VLS. My teacher (Cô Phương) is excellent at her job, explains things clearly, and is incredibly patient with me—which is definitely necessary at times! The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and the extra activities outside the classroom are well worth attending. I’m very happy with my time here. My Vietnamese still has a long way to go, but at least now I can make mistakes with much more confidence!

  I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding support and inclusive environment I’ve received from Vietnamese Language Studies (VLS) during my language journey. As a full-time student in the Vietnamese Dynamic Program for over seven months, I can confidently say that VLS has set a high standard for Vietnamese language instruction. Their courses, progressing from A1 to C2 levels - blend grammar, vocabulary, and cultural insights, preparing students to thrive in Vietnamese society. The program’s strong emphasis on practical communication has been invaluable in building my confidence and fluency across professional, academic, and social contexts - essential skills for thriving in Vietnam in the 21st century. The instructors at VLS have been exceptional, each bringing unique strengths to the classroom. I've learned from five teachers, each enriching my experience. The flexibility VLS offers in tailoring learning to individual needs, including mental health considerations, has been especially supportive. As a visible mental health advocate in the community, I value VLS’s openness in accommodating students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued. In addition to my studies, as a proud VLS Ambassador, I’ve represented the institution at events like the 2024 Mid-Autumn Charity Trip, which focused on poverty alleviation and waste management in Trảng B, Hamlet 2. I participated in cultural workshops, such as Đông Hồ painting and lantern-making, deepening my understanding of Vietnamese culture and forming meaningful connections within the local community. Also, I’ve contributed to initiatives like VLS’s partnership with Survival Skills Vietnam’s Drowning Prevention Program, highlighting their dedication to inclusivity and social responsibility. VLS also offers various corporate social responsibility initiatives, from reforestation efforts to workplace culture workshops, fostering a strong sense of community involvement. Their commitment to inclusivity and social engagement has broadened my appreciation for Vietnam and enriched my experiences. For anyone considering Vietnamese language study - whether you're an expat, business professional, diplomat, educator, or seeking collaboration on a study tour or business training program - the resources, inclusivity, and support at VLS are unmatched. I’ve explored various options, including virtual learning and the Vietnamese Pronunciation and Culture and Mentality Courses, all certified by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training. The demand for Vietnamese language skills and cultural understanding is invaluable for building meaningful connections, strong business relationships and enhancing employability prospects in Vietnam’s rising star economy. I began my studies here with the support of the New Colombo Plan, a signature initiative of the Australian Government and am excited to continue my journey with VLS.   Really professional instruction! I actually tested 2-3 other Vietnamese language schools before settling on this one. The structured instruction is by far the best when it comes to building confidence speaking Vietnamese. The speaking assessment in the beginning helped VLS curate lessons for me. I found that the teacher took their time to ensure I understood foundational concepts before moving on to new vocabulary. The admin team is also incredibly responsive and helpful!!! I couldn’t be happier with the last few months learning Vietnamese with VLS!

  Learning at the Vietnamese Language Studies (VLS) Learning Vietnamese with Azura (Cô Minh Anh) has been an enjoyable and authentic journey, she has been a pleasure to work with as a native English speaker. I took an intensive course during my travels in Vietnam and found a teacher who loves teaching foreigners about her culture, her people and her language in the most authentic way. She was very patient and understanding, whilst showing insightful academic knowledge, as she approached teaching with a natural ease, empathy and even humor. Her approach to the mechanics of the language—especially the complexities of grammar and pronunciation—was concise and highly structured with a zero-teaching pressure style. The staff at VLS were all warm and welcoming also. They go the extra mile to make everyone feel like family. Standard qualities of Vietnamese culture and people. Cô không chỉ là một giáo viên xuất sắc, mà còn là một người truyền cảm hứng văn hóa tuyệt vời. Em vô cùng biết ơn cô. (You are not just an excellent teacher, but a wonderful cultural inspirer.   I recommend VLS for Vietnamese language studies in a serious and highly professional, yet friendly, fun and adaptable setting, at all levels. VLS will tailor your learning to your personal needs and goals, adapting further as you go. My teacher and mentor, cô Dung, is an incredibly knowledgeable, agreeable and engaging teacher with a great sense of humour. She fully understands my needs and particular interests and manages to include it all into the set curriculum. No questions go unanswered. We share our life stories and common interests and even share recipes at times. And I learn so much along the way, vocabulary, grammar, word origins, Vietnamese way of living... It is a win-win! The administrative staff is equally efficient, professional and helpful. Mr Long, the Program Consultant, was extremely helpful in the onboarding, identifying my needs, goals and preferred class schedule, and matching me with cô Dung. He continues to follow up on every detail to make sure I am progressing according to my needs and aware of extra courses and events (highly recommended too). Ms Kiều, Student Support Executive, is also very helpful and efficient in feeding me with administrative and extra-curricular updates. VLS is like a family, built on teamwork. Wherever you are in your life and whatever your particular needs, their dedicated and approachable team of teachers and administrators make it a true pleasure to study Vietnamese!

  I have a friend who studies Vietnamese at VLS District 1, and their experience has been really positive. The teachers are friendly, patient, and have a great teaching style that makes learning Vietnamese enjoyable and effective. Classes are very interactive, with lots of activities that help students practice speaking naturally. The staff are also warm and attentive, always ready to support students. On top of that, VLS offers many clubs and activities where international students can join, socialize, and experience Vietnamese culture in a fun and welcoming way.

  I have been lucky enough to have spent the past 8 weeks learning Vietnamese with VLS. Beginning my study here with no prior knowledge of the Vietnamese language, my teachers have been extremely patient, highly-skilled and engaging. Combining different methods of teaching has allowed me to build strong foundational skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Uyên and all the teachers and staff are always ready to go above and beyond to assist at any time, making my time here easy and stress-free. VLS also offers extra activities such as the Vietnamese Language Circle every month. With only one week left of full-time study here to go, I am sad to be leaving, however, I am hoping to continue with my language lessons part time. VLS is an amazing training provider. If you are looking for a dynamic, adaptable and personalised experience, VLS is perfect!

  I really recommend learning Vietnamese at VLS. It is a professional and very friendly environment to study in. I contacted the VLS team to see if it would be possible to arrange a few lessons as I was going to be in Saigon for a short stay only. Mr Long, the program consultant, was very proactive - and flexible! - in organising a tailored timetable for me. We discussed my needs beforehand and he also offered to arrange a short conversation with a teacher online to better assess my level. My 3 teachers, cô Hằng, thầy Tâm and cô Tú, are very experienced and incredibly competent at teaching language skills such as pronunciation, sentence structures and new vocabulary. They worked together as a team to support my progress. I was particularly moved by their will to share knowledge, and their sensitivity around the experience of overseas Vietnamese people. I realise that learning Vietnamese at VLS also allows stories to travel and people to be witnessed. Thank you all!
