The food was amazing. I had the lua dai viet sauce lobster and fried garlic and prawns!

I have enjoyed the food and fun atmosphere here 48+ times over 3 months and the staff all make it a positive and enjoyable breakfast, lunch, and dinner dining experience. This while they help me improve my Vietnamese language skills. Thank you all very much. Michael

As a solo traveler, finding a great spot can be hit or miss. Dai Viet on Bui Vien is a total hit—so good that I came back for the second time in a row today! The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, especially the Pineapple Fried Rice and the crispy Bánh Xèo. Beyond the great food, the service is amazing. The staff is incredibly attentive and made me feel welcome and special, even as a solo diner. Highly recommend if you're on Bui Vien!

I had a wonderful experience at this Vietnamese restaurant — the ambience is simply excellent, with lovely outdoor seating that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors, and every dish we tried was prepared to perfection. What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding service; the staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcome. It’s more than just a meal here — it’s a complete experience with good vibes all around. If you happen to be in this street, you should definitely stop by and enjoy this beautiful spot

We had are breakfast here when we arrive. The staff says they are open 24 hours and have everything. We ordered pho soup and springroll and both are good. The soup is good as well as the noodles. The spring rolls are also good. The location is at the corner of Bui Vien. Staff are helpful and accomodating.

I had high expectations for Dai Viet because I had already eaten twice at their other restaurant further down the street and had good experiences there. That’s also why this visit surprised me a bit. The staff seemed less attentive to guests. There were only two customers in the restaurant, but the team appeared more focused on talking among themselves and watching the street and musicians next door. At one point I had no drink and had to try to get someone’s attention for around 10 minutes before being noticed. The scallops were decent, but they didn’t really feel gratinated — more like reheated rather than freshly finished. The chicken was served with the head still attached. Personally, as someone with experience as a butcher and cook, that doesn’t bother me, but I think some guests may find that unexpected when it arrives at the table 😅. The chicken itself was also quite dry and stringy. Chicken can be prepared in a way that stays juicy and almost melts in your mouth, so maybe this dish just wasn’t at its best that day. I’m writing this as constructive feedback because I know this is part of the same chain and I expected the same friendliness and quality I experienced before. I rarely leave critical reviews, but I hope this helps and that future guests get the experience I know your restaurant can deliver.

We were charged for a 5.5 kg lobster (55 × 100g), but the lobster served was very small and clearly not that weight. There was no transparent weighing shown to us. We feel overcharged and misled. Be careful and make sure to check the weight before ordering. Very disappointing and unacceptable practice.
