  My friend and I visited on a Friday evening, and our first impression was the beautiful and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant feels warm, elegant, and very welcoming. The staff were friendly, professional, and always smiling, which made the experience even more enjoyable. As a vegetarian, I ordered two vegetarian dishes, while my friend chose the stir-fried duck with sponge gourd. Everything was delicious, and the glass of wine I selected paired perfectly with the meal. One of the highlights for me was the Diamond Leaf Salad with soft-shell crab and crispy fried tofu. The combination of flavors and textures was outstanding and very memorable. The location is also fantastic. After dinner, we took a short walk along Dong Khoi Street, which made the evening even more special. This is definitely a place worth visiting if you want to experience Vietnamese cuisine elevated to a higher level while still preserving its authentic flavors. Highly recommended!

  While in Ho Chi Minh, we were on a mission to hunt for the best pho. Since it was only a short trip, we decided to try a spot conveniently located near our hotel. The restaurant had a charming vintage yet clean atmosphere, which I really loved. Service was warm and attentive, and it was also recognized by the Michelin Guide. We ordered the Australian beef pho and tiger prawn spring rolls. The spring rolls were so good that we wanted to order a second round, but unfortunately it was already last order. The pho itself was enjoyable, though I was expecting a richer and more flavourful broth. They served it with hoisin sauce and chili on the side, which definitely helped enhance the taste. We also tried the vermicelli, which was decent but a little mild for my preference , adding some light soy sauce and chili made it much better.

  Now that was a delightful experience. I had the 7 course set menu with wine… Every course was sublime and exceptional…the wine selection superb and a special thank you …I love your work ..to the new Sommelier who’s just joined the team …amazing knowledge and service ..fantastic selection of wine ..though there’s a promise that it will get better over the next few weeks … I will include the menu in the post but if you are in HCM City put this on your Must Do List …and such good value too .. Thank you to the staff ..well done Luke 👏👏👏

  Just wonderful. The decor was stunning for a start with a m8x of French Art Deco, Vietnamese and Chinese. The staff were welcoming, polite, professional and really friendly. Thank you Trinh for your endless care and attention & friendly service. We chose Alacarte instead of the degustation set menu. Loved everything we ordered. 5star presentation. 5star flavour and execution. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant which we have resisted for years thinking it was too posh for us. Not at all. We felt at home thr minute we walked in. Thank you Luke Nguyen for your passion, enthusiasm and dedication to exceptionally good food. This restaurant is a credit to you

  Dining at Vietnam House Restaurant—a Michelin-recognized establishment—is a distinction well deserved and certainly not incidental. Its enviable location, just steps away from Times Square Saigon and the iconic Saigon Opera House, makes it an ideal setting to indulge in refined Vietnamese cuisine amidst the cultural heart of the city. Occupying a prominent corner, the restaurant’s façade is striking and unmistakable—an elegant homage to French colonial architecture. The interiors are equally captivating: grand yet welcoming, sophisticated yet deeply comforting, creating an ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience. Pressed for time due to an engagement nearby, I was able to stop in for an early supper. The manager ensured that my selections were served promptly without compromising the finesse of service—an impressive balance of efficiency and grace. I sampled the papaya salad with crab and a vegetarian rice paper roll—both were exquisitely prepared, vibrant in flavour, and beautifully presented. Each dish reflected authenticity, freshness, and culinary precision. I only regret that my schedule did not allow me to linger longer and savour the offerings with the attention they so richly deserved. Vietnam House is a splendid representation of elevated Vietnamese gastronomy in an atmosphere of timeless charm. It is a destination I would gladly revisit with more time at hand.

  We dined at Vietnam House Restaurant with the expectations that naturally come with a Michelin-recognized restaurant—creative concept, refined presentation, clean execution, and bold, memorable flavors. Unfortunately, it did not live up to those expectations. There were a few positives. The scallops were excellent, and the abalone was decent. The duck was good but nothing special—similar quality can easily be found in simpler, less expensive restaurants. The vegetables were well prepared and enjoyable. However, the overall experience fell short. The desserts were particularly disappointing. The coconut dessert had almost no coconut flavor, and the other dessert was just average—something comparable to what you might find at a street stall. The restaurant itself was quite empty during our visit, and the overall organization and atmosphere did not reflect the level of precision or attention to detail one would expect at this standard. In the end, it lacked the creativity, depth of flavor, and overall experience I look for in a Michelin-level restaurant.

  10/25: Came here as a part of a tour, so group reservation, we were looking forward to it and it had been hyped up. Confusion from the beginning, they were unsure were to seat us, although they knew there was a reservation for this tour company because they bring a new tour every other week (and the place was empty). The food was not good at all. It was a sampling of what they offer. Some was so salty we could only handle a bite, others no taste at all, very bland. This was our welcome dinner to Vietnam and honestly it was terrible. Out of 14 of us, no one finished or had more than two bites of what was given. The soup was lukewarm and the dessert was just sugar water and gelatin. Such a huge disappointment. Would not recommend. The staff kept asking why we didn't want to eat anything and everyone was telling them why and they said there was nothing they could do, could we just eat it? We ended up going to McDonalds afterwards and having the chicken wings with some spice - best chicken wings we ever had!

  We actually planned our trip to Vietnam after watching Luke’s show on SBS in Australia. We planned our whole trip around coming to this restaurant. We were so disappointed in this place. Fresh spring rolls were chewy and not at all “fresh”. We had better on the street for 1/3 of the price. The prices are insane for what it is and the food isn’t that great. You pay what you’d pay in Australia. Example- Saigon beer here is 128k and it’s only 15k on the street…for the exact same beer. It was so packed that you need a booking and it felt like we were sitting in a food court, not a nice restaurant. The portions are tiny for the price. If you want to “see Vietnam” and have your own western taste catered to…come here. If you want the real Vietnam, go outside for a fraction of the price with more soul. Our food was presented nicely but arrived cold and the fried rice was worse than what you would get frozen at 711…for 10x the price. They kindly removed the rice from our bill because I didn’t eat it. The positives are that the decor was beautiful and the staff were lovely. The cocktails were delicious too. If you must come here, I recommend coming for a couple of drinks and skip the food…unless you want western style Vietnamese
