I came here after a motorcycle accident and needed 3 hrs surgery on my right arm. Everyone was great the nurses don't speak much English But they try very hard to make you feel comfortable and well taken care of. If I ever am again in hue in need of medical care I would go straight to this hospital

This morning I needed to see a doctor because an ear infection was getting steadily worse and was very painful. After a bit of Googling I caught a taxi to the Hue public hospital, arriving about 7.50am. I was approached by English speaking welcome staff as I walked in the door and was directed to an English speaking staff member at the counter for triage. Then I went to the short payment queue to pay my 680,000 dong charge to see an ear, nose and throat specialist. Not just a generalist. After finding the right clinic with the help of more of the sash wearing help staff, I sat down. Five minutes later I was seen by the ENT specialist. I had used Google translate to write down all the info he might need and translate it to Vietnamese. He examined my ears, told me the problem, treatment and prognosis in English. Then I was sent to the hospital pharmacy for my medicine, which cost 200,000 dong. By 8.30am, less than an hour after leaving my hotel I was in a grab back to the hotel. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. I am posting this for other travellers who may need to see a doctor and don't know what to do. I wish I had gone a couple of days earlier.

Cannot thank enough to the emergency medical team of the Hue Central Hospital when my husband needed to be examined after a series of symptoms of food poisoning. He received good care of medical attention and thankfully he recovered speedy soon after received proper medication from the hospital. The medical team was able to speak English and helped us to understand what was been happening and the cost was reasonable for us/traveler. Very caring and respectful approach to patients.

I ended up here after snapping my right femur due to a motorbike accident. When I arrived quite naturally there was not an abundance of English speaking doctors. But the treatment I have received is first class From surgery to post operative care. All the Doctors, physios, nurses and cleaning staff could not be more helpful, diligent and conscientious. I am very grateful to their professionalism and compassion.

I went to the International Hospital in Hue after experiencing 5 days of chest pain. The service was quick, efficient and I walked out with results in less than 2 hours. The ultrasound bed was used by many which made me a bit uncomfortable but not a major. Cost was a little over a million for for an x-ray and ultrasound.

THEY USED MY SHOCK AND CONDITION TO RIP ME OFF! I had a bike accident and was bleeding. They provided emergency help, which was quite good. BUT THEN… charged me the HIGHES FEES for medical service out of 20 counties which I’ve been to (mostly European). They charged 240$ for emergency, x-ray photos and doctor’s conclusion. Luckily I didn’t get bones broken, but needed to sew wounds. And doctor’s conclusion was to do a surgery for 5000$ !! It’s insane! To sew 3 wounds not to make a plastic nose operation! 🤯 (see pics) They didn’t let me go to another city which I came from. They insisted on high risks of contagiousness and that it’s better for me to have a surgery asap in their another brunch. Whereas the way back was about to take 2,5 hours. And so, I agreed. And then waited for 3 hours (!!!) before they took me to the operating table! And the was another doctor trying to sell me the operation for 160$ pushing me that the situation is serious (another doctor said quite opposite) Well, in the end after operation I ended up in a common room with 15 women+infants and kids. I even didn’t have A SEPARATE BED, cus they were overwhelmed!! Also they don’t have any soaps and toilet paper in their run-down anti sanitary toilets! AND IN TOTAL I PAID 280$ for 1,5 days in this hospital. Operation was fast and, I’d say, young doctors were nice. However, they don’t know what ethics is, they just use you to benefit! Be careful, comers!

English traveller here - DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS HOSPITAL. We were dropped by our taxi driver to the international hospital as my partner had a fever and had been unwell for a day or so. When we arrived (around 9pm) the lobby was empty, all the lights on but no one other than sleeping people on the benches. We assumed this was not the correct location as after shouting for someone, no one was around. Myself and my partner then walked halfway around the complex to try to find the correct place. We went into the emergency unit to find some staff. We were then chartered around the hospital by different staff in all different directions. We went into about 5 different buildings trying to find the right place with little to no help. We were finally directed to a building and when we entered my partner was offered to sit on one of the stained and dirty hospital beds (this hospital was not clean and rats were running around). They took his passport and asked him a few brief questions before saying he needed to stay the night and they need to inject different substances into his body BEFORE ANY TESTS WERE COMPLETED! As we did not feel comfortable with this rapid and rushed conclusion from the nurse, we decided we were going to leave. When asking for our passport back, they were unhappy about this and called a doctor over. He said that we should not be leaving as my partner had a disease?? Please bear in mind, we had been in this room for less than 10 minutes and all they had done was taken our passport and his temperature. We confirmed we would like to leave and they were very reluctant about this (presumably because they wanted the money from our insurance). We were given back the passport and went to a pharmacy across the road. They prescribed us some medication. This was an awful and very disappointing experience. I could not recommend this hospital less.

The doctors consultations are done in 30 seconds or less extra tests and work ups are ordered to scam you by passing the bill. Went in for a routine outpatient procedure and ended up admitted for three nights. Literally the only saving grace of this hospital are the incredible nursing staff. If not for the amazing care of the nurses I would've preferred to walk out bleeding in the street. Oh and by the time they got around to doing two blood tests, an ultrasound, and a chest x-ray the abscess that I needed drained had already burst and I ended up bleeding all over the hospital as they ushered me from test to test.
