I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt this hotel deserved one. I stayed here for a few nights with my family, and we had a really comfortable stay. The hotel isn't the newest, but it's very well maintained and everything felt clean. Our room was much bigger than we expected, and after walking around the city all day, it was nice to come back to a quiet room and just rest. The staff were probably my favorite part of the experience. Everyone we met was friendly in a very genuine way. There was no feeling that they were just being nice because it was their job. They remembered small things, always greeted us with a smile, and were happy to help whenever we had questions. One thing I really looked forward to every morning was breakfast. There was a nice mix of Vietnamese and Western food, so it never felt repetitive even after a few days. The local dishes tasted fresh and felt like something you'd actually eat in Hue, not just something made for tourists. We ended up spending more time at the pool than we expected. It was clean, peaceful, and a nice break from the heat after walking around Hue all day. I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere there, a perfect place to slow down and enjoy the afternoon. Overall, Indochine Palace gave us exactly what we were looking for—comfort, good service, and a place that felt easy to come back to after a long day. I'd definitely stay here again.

Indochine Palace in Hue is a great choice if you’re looking for comfort and value. The price is very reasonable for what you get, making it feel like excellent value compared to similar hotels. One of the highlights is definitely the breakfast — there’s a wide variety of options, and the quality is impressive for the price range. It’s a great way to start the day. The service is also outstanding. The staff are attentive, polite, and always ready to help, which really enhances the overall experience. One small downside is the bedding. The mattress topper feels a bit low quality and doesn’t sit evenly, which can make the bed feel slightly uneven when sleeping. Overall, it’s still a well-rounded hotel offering good value, great breakfast, and excellent service — with just a minor area for improvement in the bedding.

Although built only around 15-20 years ago, the hotel has been designed in the architectural style of a grand hotel of the Indochine era. It is effective in creating a real sense of grandeur, with many large spaces throughout, and huge rooms. If I had not known, I'd have assumed it was 125 years old. Throughout the hotel there is beautiful artwork and there was careful attention to detail in the rooms, which felt very well finished. There were plenty of good quality bathroom products and according to my wife it was a "perfect" bath. The bed was soft/plush rather than firm. Facilities include a large outdoor pool, bar, lobby lounge (with live jazz on weekend evenings), and restaurant. Restaurant and in room dining had the same huge menu including local Hue dishes, Vietnamese, Western and world dishes. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and had lots of variety, including egg and soup stations making omelettes, bún bò and pho to order. For work there was free WiFi throughout the hotel, which streamed without spooling, but I did not try videoconferencing while there. Bizarrely my headphones seemed to pick up the TV broadcast from the station opposite when I had active noise cancelling switched on! Staff were helpful and friendly, and housekeeping did a great job of keeping rooms clean. Overall this hotel was an experience in itself, and I was pleased to have chosen here over the other five star options in Hue.

I really want to highlight the staff at the Indochine Palace. They are wonderful. They are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome. They love their city and want you to leave loving it as much as they do. The pool is awesome, too! We had the best sleeps we've had in ages in that big comfy bed.The buffet breakfast was also really nice. The only downside was that the toilet light actually lit up half the bedroom so using the bathroom at nighttime was not ideal.

The stay at this hotel was a big disappointment. In my opinion, it does not deserve its 5-star rating. The interior and design are quite nice, but a beautiful building alone is not enough to provide a true luxury experience. What matters most is how guests are treated. Another disappointing aspect was the check-out policy. Check-in is at 3:00 PM, while check-out is already at 11:00 AM. This gives guests significantly less than a full 24-hour stay and feels unnecessarily restrictive, especially when the hotel is far from full. A 12:00 PM check-out, which is standard at many hotels around the world, would be much more reasonable and guest-friendly. The worst part happened at check-out. We were charged 59,000 VND for a single small 300 ml bottle of water. We paid 118,000 VND for two tiny bottles. This is simply unreasonable and left a very unpleasant impression. It felt like the hotel was trying to make money on the smallest things instead of taking care of its guests. It completely ruined the positive memories of our stay. A genuine 5-star hotel should make guests feel valued until the very last moment, not leave them arguing over an overpriced bottle of water. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel. A true luxury hotel is defined by its service, not just its appearance.

Convenient location, great service provided. All the staff are able to converse in good English. The room is clean and spacious. Although the hotel is dated, it has an old charm. Good breakfast spread provided.

I stayed for three nights in April, 2026. The room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. The quality of food at the breakfast buffet and regular restaurant fare was outstanding. All staff that I encountered were very friendly and efficient. I have stayed at 14 other hotels in Vietnam over the past 3 years. I consider this hotel my favorite as well as the best financial bargain. It is well located near the Citadel.
