The service and hospitality were truly exceptional. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive staff who eagerly helped with menu selections, everything felt genuine and inviting. The dishes were outstanding, the aubergine was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Even the simple rice stood out, served in a hot clay pot that elevated the entire dining experience. The restaurant offers an authentic local atmosphere, exactly what you hope to find when dining in Vietnam. I would highly recommend this place and would gladly return to try more of their menu.

Wow this is probably the best cơm niêu restaurant I've tried in all of Vietnam. Each and every dish is so full of flavors and the rice is very fragrant. My family and I loved it so much that we came here twice for dinner during our 4-day visit to Hue. We really enjoyed the chicken and fish dishes, as well as the appetizer combos. Plus you get some free fruit/dessert in the end. Also the entire meal is affordable. Very good value for the money. It's mostly Vietnamese people who eat here (unlike some of the restaurants on walking street) so you know it's legit.

There’s no better way to experience the culinary heart of Hue than a traditional meal at Chạn. The name itself evokes memories of an old Vietnamese kitchen cupboard, and the food feels just like a warm home-cooked meal. ✨ The Highlights: * Com Nieu (Clay Pot Rice): The rice is fragrant and perfectly cooked, especially that golden crust at the bottom! • Home-style Dishes: From the savory braised fish to the fresh local greens, every dish is a perfect balance of flavors—salty, sweet, and spicy, just the way Hue people love it. ✨ The Space: I’m absolutely in love with the vintage decor. The yellow walls, old wooden furniture, and rustic ceramics make the whole dining experience feel like stepping back in time. A true hidden gem on Nguyen Thai Hoc street that you simply can't miss. 🇻🇳

Great place in the city centre for homecooked Vietnamese meal in Hue style. I love their "mắm ruốc chưng thịt", it goes so well w white rice. The other dishes were okay. They also give you complimentary "bánh ít lá gai" for dessert.

Make sure you arrive early for lunch at this popular restaurant. Serving very traditional and delicious dishes from around Vietnam there is something for everyone. Very popular with local Vietnamese as well as visitors this is a must visit restaurant. Named after the sideboards dotted around the restaurant it has very eclectic decorations from the 60’s and 70’s which give it an old world time warp sort of feel. Must visit in Hue!

Best restaurant in Hue that ticked all the boxes. Great atmosphere, great service, great food and prices. Slightly above average in Vietnam though. Only small downside is that ypu will not find all the local delicacies Hue is famous for unfortunately, but you will rather find some great Asian food.

Visited in March.. late review. Enjoyed my meal here. Lovely restaurant that sadly was a little empty during my visit. Deserved better. Had some pork, fish & veg. All were tasty, with the fish being the star dish of the night. Will return if ever I am back in Hue.

Refreshing drink! I would reccomend the salted pomelo ( Tra Buoi Xi Muoi). I came back the next day to get 2 more drinks to go... for my road trip to Da Nang. The food we ordered was very good! Shared among 4 people
