  They let us check in 5 hours early (and sleep in the lobby for hours before then)!! The employees are all extremely helpful, room very clean and great location with the beach only a 3-4 min walk. A lot of building works surrounding the hotel but doesn't make a difference noise-wise. Would certainly recommend; great value for money.

  Overrated and over priced. The room was clean and centrally located but the pluses stop there. The entrance is depressing with a dirty fast food place on the sidewalk. Motorcycle security is not good during the day but adequate at night. The receptionist threatened to have me thrown out because I would not cancel a booking even though I had been given no notice that the room I had booked was not available and it was already past the checkin time. The hotel is relatively new but deteriorating at a rapid rate. Our room had what looked like coffee stains on the wall and an ugly hole in the ceiling of the bathroom. The doors of the wardrobe had fallen off and it sat in 6 square metres of wasted space due to poor room design. Posters were peeling off the walls and the air conditioner did not cool the room. There is no where to wash your feet outside when you come back from the beach.

  The location was great and they offered cheap tours which is good. BUT: the room was really dirty, there were mosquitos, spiders and not identifying worms on the ceiling. Ive had glass shards IN MY Bed. I didn't even have a trash bin in my room ("superior room"). The traffic was so loud that I couldn't sleep.<br/>To the staff: the lady with the glasses was very friendly and helpful to me although she kinda ruined my trip because she told me I can book a sleeper bus and take my bike with me. I trusted her and 2 days later, just one night before leaving she told me it's not possible. The other lady that works there was so incredibly rude, even stopped listening to me and did other stuff while I tried to explain my problem to her. Unbelievable. I wouldn't recommend staying there!!

  Do not stay here. Construction going on both sides of building. Extremely loud noise starting from 6am-6pm. After a 13 hour bus journey arriving at 4:30 am this is the last thing we wanted. We were asked to pay upfront and paid for 3 nights. After 1 night we wanted to check out as early as possible and asked politely for a refund for next 2 nights. The manager refused to do this for us. The hotel itself is very poor, tiny rooms one small window with no curtain. Hotel still has merry Christmas posters everywhere which tells you how well it's looked after as it is now June. We moved hotel despite being refused refund. Do not stay here .

  Understandably outside the hostels control, the buildings surrounding had very noisy electrical work going on during our stay. As we arrived at 4 am to drop our bags off at the hostel, there was no noise and when checking in the staff did not warn us about it. In the morning after our first night, the drilling and hammering started right next to our bedroom wall around 6 am, ridiculously loud and didn’t stop at all. After we had two very sleepless nights we wanted to move hotels. We were happy to do this if refunded. The room obviously didn’t fit what we had paid for.. so spoke to the receptionist who struggled with English so we asked to speak to the manager at 9 am. We hadn’t heard anything so asked the receptionist for the managers number whom we called and messaged without response, even when we sent him a video of the noise from our room. We then went back downstairs and he was at reception. He eventually, after difficult discussion offered us one night out of three refunded as we would be checking out late and therefore would have to pay for the second night anyway. We told him we had tried to speak to him from 9am and did not want to stay late. There was no aim to understand from our point of view. The receptionist herself was polite however the management really failed on this occasion. We checked out as soon as this conversation had ended and looked forward to a nap at another hotel. Do not stay here.

  So we booked Straw Hat because it was rated with a 8.9. But we should have read more reviews, because otherwise we would not have booked it. ||- We were redirected to the sister hotel - 'MERCI HOTEL' because there was a leackage. We were like 'okay, can happen and nice that there is availability in a other hotel'. Same rooms same price they told us. But the bed looked less comfi and well, not what we have booked. |BUT, when reading the reviews, such problems like leackage or overbookings are probably the way it works at Straw hat, since such excuses are used since 2018. Probably they won't want a Booking.com account for MERCI HOTEL, so they fill their rooms with bookings from Straw Hat. ||So, this is actually a review for MERCI HOTEL. |- bed was really hard|- room was very small|- no windows|- moldy smell|- shower did not get warm|- sheets were washed but did not look like it, as there were all brown spots on it.|- Air-conditioning did not work, so we asked the receptionist. He came to the room and told us 'You used this light switch, which you can't use, that is the problem why it did not work'. It felt like he said it was our problem, because we 'used the light switch'. We did not even touched it yet, but oké. |- receptionist uses earpods the whole time, so you had to ask things for 3 times. He even did not notice the phone ringing.||+ location is good|+ The receptionist booked the night bus from Nha Trang to Hoi An||All in all, we would have booked another hotel if we knew this.

  I would like to warn people who thinking about booking this place! We booked Straw hat hostel because it has a good reviews. When we came in to check in the girl on the front desk told us we are going to stay in another hotel, newer one, no explanations was given us. So ok, we went there, I asked the owner several time why we can’t stay in the place which we originally booked. He just laughed as didn’t say anything and took my phone and cancel my booking in Straw hat. We were moved to his new hotel Merci. We were quite angry but said ok, till the morning has come at 7 o’clock there were noises people drilling, moving stuff , pure building site ! We pack our bags and said we are not going to stay another night. Well long story short , he demanded pay for two night( which we stayed just one) otherwise he wouldn’t give is back our passports. ||Very bad experience and the owner Was terrible. This is not about the money, but how they treated us and I believe he does this to get people to book thru Straw hat and then move them to Merci. ||Btw, we even requested to move our room because it was not clean. There were hair on the he pillows and dirty bathroom ! ||So please be aware about the booking !

  Me and my boyfriend booked to stay just one night here. However, when we arrived to check in they told us there was something wrong with the room (in fact they had overbooked us). They took us down the road to their sister hostel, offering no help to carry the 5 bags we were carrying between us.....Although we didn’t expect much for the price we paid, the hostel was dirty and nothing like the room we thought we would be staying in, the very least you expect when booking accommodation is to actually stay in the place you booked!
