Came here for the goat pho, haven’t seen that in Hanoi or Cat Ba. Goat pho was good. Meat was tender and a decent portion of it. Also had Chicken pho. The chicken broth had a bit more flavor to it. Chicken was also tender. Orange passion shake was bonkers good. The woman who I presume is the owner was very nice. Offered us water bottles before we left. And 2 small sour bananas that I love! Also shook my hand when I got up to leave. I’ll also share my first impression. I walked in and no one was there at the counter or seating area to greet us. We sat down and grabbed a menu and then about 2-3 minutes later the presumed owner showed up and greeted us and handed a 2nd menu. I was about to leave after that but then we ordered and the food came pretty fast. Side note: I’m very curious why prices in Ninh Binh are nonstandard numbers like 52, 82, 79, 7. Haven’t seen that elsewhere in Vietnam yet.

A good dinner spot hidden in the aley. Welcomed by a lovely couple running the restaurant. The owner can speak English and Chinese so it's easy to communicate and ask about the menu. Had the vietnamese noodle soup and tried the banana flower salad. You should try the salad! it's very refreshing, much like the thai papaya salad but the taste is milder and the texture of the banana heart itself is crunchy and light.

In the hellscape of touristy tam coc restaurants, this place feels like a haven. It’s family owned by a two parents and a son with a restaurant tucked down a quieter alley. We came here around four times because the food tasted more home cooked. We had the pho here which was good but the true standout for us was to eat the various dishes with white rice. We ordered the garlic spinach, the tomato and egg, and the tomato and tofu with rice each time and it was tasty with a side of spring rolls. If you care about rice, this place has really great white rice that’s cooked perfectly; not mushy; perfectly sticky; amazing. Great authentic spot with family vibes. The dad and mom like to goof around and they always left us with free bottles or water or banana that they had grown in their backyard. Added points for if you speak mandarin, which we did, the father is self-taught and relatively fluent Come for a visit if you’re tired of eating crepes, pizzas, and random touristy foods.

We stopped by for dinner while in Tam Coc and highly recommend this place! The goat pho is unique to Ninh Binh and was delicious. The broth had a very flavorful umami and was a nice change from the typical beef or chicken pho. The restaurant is a family owned mom and pop, and the owners are very friendly. We were the only 2 patrons for about 15 minutes and he sat and chatted with us before additional guests arrived.

This place offers a good variety of noodle soup and dishes. It was my first time eating Bun Ca (Fish noodle soup) and it was really good. The fish was fresh and it compliments the tomatoey taste of the broth. This is the place where you can taste homemade food. It is a family-owned restaurant so it was homey and they were very attentive to all our requests. A MUST TRY and a hidden gem. 😍😍😍 I forgot to take photo of our food but come see for yourself and taste the goodness of Vietnam food and culture 😉

Very lovely little family restaurant in the middle of Tam Coc. The chef and his wife are super friendly and the goat pho they recommended to us was incredibly good - the best pho we've had so far during our trip! We're so happy we found this place on google! We'll repeat for sure before we leave :)

This place was awesome, very happy I found it on Google . To start off the man working there was super happy and sweet, he was a joy to interact with. We ordered 3 dishes , bun Cha ha noi , toful with lemongrass and chilli and morning glory and garlic. As well as a ginger honey tea and 2 beers All the dishes were fantastic and very affordable. The bill came out to somewhere around 260k which is about $10 USD. 10/10 I definitely recommend

Went there because it's near my hotel and good reviews. However food was average. Spicy and sour fish noodle was neither spicy nor sour. It's a family business and there were a lot of shouting among servers and kitchen. Also we were charged more than we ordered. Boss lady adjusted it right away and I hope it really was a careless mistake. Overall I found restaurants in Tam Coc underwhelming.
