he five stars are mainly for the delightful owner Jacky, who is just a pleasure to be around with. He is very helpful and since Ninh Binh is not very developped for the western traveller, it is very good to have him at hand with good advice for everything. Jackie is a very welcoming and attentive host and we spent three splendid days there (three nights) feeling very welcome and almost at home. The hotel is a regular place to stay. I would rate it 3star. Be aware that the standard room has no windows and its well worth the upgrade to deluxe room with ceiling to bottom windows. It was clean but carpet was very old. Bathroom new and beautiful and shining but with that funny shower without curtains so that the whole bathroom is wet after you shower. But we had this alot in SE Asia. Breakfast is good. The Neighborhood is very quiet and a living area, so you get a glimpse at authentic life in a small vietnamese city. Still the restaurants in the centre are within walking distance (15-20 min) or you can take the fantastic mountain bikes that Jacky rents out (or sometimes gives for free for a short time). We slept very, very well. We did the River / Temples / Pagodas tour with a private driver (25 US$ full day) and rented bycicles at the river (5US$/day/person), though feel free to go on bycicle or scooter (both rented out by Jackie). Don't miss the banana flower salad and the goat meat. I recommend the hotel 100%.

We arrived at 5 AM in Ninh Binh and we could check-in at that time without additional fees. The room was clean and the view was very nice. Bathroom was a little bit small but still ok, just make sure to turn the switch on for hot water! It looked like a residential area around the hotel, not much restaurants or store, so it was really quiet. Jackie, the manager of the hotel, also own a local restaurant near by where you can eat typical vietnamese food. It was one of our favorite restaurant, awesome local food, local price and perfect service! Ask for it at the front desk!

We stayed at this hotel recently for about 3 days and had a great stay. The room was clean and tidy, and the breakfasts were good. The hotel is in a good location, just off the main road that can take you to various restaurants and cafes, although the bus and train stations are around 1.5km away.||What made the trip excellent was the hotel owner/manager, Jackie. He went out of his way to make our trip as comfortable as possible, including:||- helping us book train tickets|- sorted us out with motorcycle hire and a customised tour to cuc phuong and ho citadel|- being an exhaustive source of info on other lesser known sites around, and good restaurants to eat.||This is just a sample of the things that he helped us out with. He will, really go out of his way to make you feel comfortable.||Overall, a great stay, and highly recommended.

The hotel is on the private area, which was nice and quiet. Ask for the upper floor with a windows view, you will enjoy more than the closed room with no view.||The staffs are very friendly, they prepared fresh fruits and drinks when we arrive. There was a mistake with my booking, I booked the room for 2 days with no meal plan. But the receptionist and the hotel was so nice offer us free breakfast anyway. It was a small gesture but gain much appreciated from us.||It very convenient to get the bus back to Hanoi. Turn left after walk out of the hotel and turn right to a small street. Walk a short walk till you reach the main road and a gas station on your left. Just stand there and look for big buses pass by with "HANOI" written in front glass. The local guide told us to choose the buses have plate number start with 36. We paid 70,000 dong for a ticket to Giap Bat bus station.

The staff was just great! The best we met in Vietnam. They booked a car for us to go to Tam Coc in 15 minutes, they let us take shower after we got back, although we had already checked out. They were just so kind and friendly and sincere. Breakfast was good - made to order. Room was ok - didn´t like the carpets but other than that no complaints. Bathroom was quite small and the shower was directly above toilet seat. Interesting experience.

The rooms are clean and neat and the hospitality from the staff are just wonderful. The staff saw me applying ointment on my girl's tummy and without second word, offered me her bottle of ointment to treat her 'tummy ache'. ||||During breakfast Jackie, the manager, ensured we had all that we need and was constantly on the look out to make us feel at home. When one of us had allergic reaction, he brought my friend personally to the clinic, translated the conversation and ensured that my friend knew what was happening. He also informed our guide (who ironically claimed credit for the good deed) about the clinic's visit and told him to look after my friend's diet. ||||I am indeed impressed with the warmth and great hospitality! Thank you Jackie and your team!
