Now that 3 months have passed, it is a good time to make a factual comment. My 7-year-old daughter was very unwell in December. She had an unexplained infection with fever and alternating abdominal, head and leg pains, although all regular examinations by me (pediatrician) did not reveal any significant findings. Assuming a common childhood febrile viral infection, we waited for spontaneous resolution of the fever, which occurred after 2 days. Another 2 days later, the fever returned extremely high, abdominal, head and leg pain including vomiting now very severe, again without significant evidence of a specific illness, so that on a Sunday (unfortunately this is always the case) I decided to take a laboratory sample to clarify a dengue test and differentiation viral/bacterial. However, all the labs in Vung Tau were closed and it was to be done the next morning. During the night, however, the vomiting became insatiable, the fever could no longer be reduced and the general condition became extremely poor. She therefore became an immediate emergency case for the Vung Tau City Hospital at 1 am. The emergency room listened to the history and fully complied with my laboratory requests, and also performed an abdominal ultrasound. The result was severe pyelonephritis, although there were no classic clinical symptoms. The emergency department immediately arranged for me to be admitted to the pediatric ward for intravenous therapy. 5 stars for the emergency department for diagnostics and management!!! The pediatric ward immediately admitted the child and started intravenous therapy. Simple urinary tract infections usually respond quickly to the first doses of therapy, but this was not the case. I wanted extended diagnostics as the vomiting and abdominal pain persisted and the fever remained high. Possibly the disease had been complicated by a second problem, e.g. covered perforated appendix. In the meantime, double antibiotic therapy was already underway (as is the usual standard for this) and the head of pediatrics no longer wanted to accept any further delay, as sepsis was imminent or had already begun. Instead of further diagnostics and, in the case of developing sepsis, no longer being able to transport the patient, she insisted on an immediate transfer to Children's Hospital 2 in Saigon, as she clearly recognized that the resources for treating severe sepsis in Vung Tau would not be sufficient. Here too, 5 stars for the pediatric department, which did a very good job, but also clearly and promptly saw its limits and arranged the transfer. All in all, I can fully recommend Vung Tau Hospital as far as the emergency room and pediatrics are concerned. They found the right diagnosis very quickly and well and arranged for immediate treatment, all according to the standards I know as a doctor, which are also common in Europe. At the same time, they know their limits and do not hesitate to recommend a transfer if their own resources are not sufficient. I was able to communicate in all matters using English and, if necessary, an additional Google translator. The rooms were clean and tidy by Asian standards. On the contrary, I can't say all that about the pediatric clinic in Saigon.

Large public hospital that looks fairly new and clean. I came here for an eye infection checkup, and the overall experience was better than I expected for a public hospital. The facilities looked modern and well maintained, and the process felt organized. The staff were professional, and everything moved along smoothly without too much waiting. It gave me confidence that this is a reliable public hospital if you need medical care.

Good experience, clean hospital, water stations around the lobby, etc. The doctors were professional and timely. The prices were normal and they take credit cards. Not sure if they speak English or not as my Vietnamese wife did all the talking, haha. It's really far from Vung Tau, maybe they should change the name to the halfway to Saigon hospital.

wife had emergency operation for appendicitis which was a bit daunting but was conducted very thoroughly with 2 CT scans to confirm the diagnosis before the procedure. post opp care was a bit of a challenge as not much english was spoken so we enlisted a friend to translate. a week later for the check up and removal of the stitches went to the front counter and the attendant figured it would be easier to just usher us personally through it all taking us to the CT and the payment system right up to seeing the doctor. felt bad jumping the queue but i guess they figured it would just be easier that way . the whole thing cost about 11.5 million which wasn’t to bad . the experience went smoothly with a bit of confusion with language barriers but google translate helped a lot . the other patients in the room with my wife where exceptional showing the true helpful spirit of the Vietnamese people and are extremely grateful for their help while my wife was there . thank you again to the doctors and all the staff

First I will start with the positive that there was no long waiting time, but everything else was bad done in a way which is harmful to the patient, after an accident and being I'm severe pain, I was given paracetamol to take after I already told them I took the maximum daily amount you can take, later on, I was prescribed panadol to take after repeatedly telling them I already took a specific amount of acetaminophen that day, if I was unaware of how much one can take and proceeded with their instructions, I could have faced serious liver damage, I was talking them I took 4000mg that day but they told me to take panadol first Im the hospital then when I leave, also I'm this situation, it was not sufficient as I was I'm such severe pain that I couldn't sleep or do almost anything and they wouldn't write me a prescription for something stronger, after leaving the hospital I came out in worse condition than I entered and in the following morning I couldn't walk at all even though I could I'm the hospital the day before, because of how aggressively somebody cleaned the wound to add to that often times the staff would act carelessly and bump into my wounds or with some equipment, really all that was done was the wounds were cleaned, which I have previously have someone do it for me and they didn't solve anything, potentially putting my health at risk, not helping me, and making the condition worse
