There were ants all over the bedsheets. The balcony room had mosquitos flying in and out. Every pillow and sheet on my bed contained a mysterious stain.

Hotel as such is ok. Nothing special but decent. Mostly used by tour bus groups. Its 3 km from the city and nothing to do around apart from some small shops. Rooms were ok and clean. No safe in the room. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and took some work to explain our orders. The food was ok and the personnel was very willing but lacked even basic English. Ok to stay her for a night when you plan to sail to Cambodja.

Stayed at Dong Nam hotel for 1 night (room 111) while traveled to Phu Quoc.|We also had dinner which included |Bun Mam", a local well known dish; and we had a good breakfast buffet.|All in all everything seems to be OK. The bed is a little on the hard side. I like it but my girlfriend didn't like it. Sound proofing is not good as we can hear the traffic noise from the street outside. This is an OK 3 star hotel. I would come back.|

This hotel was booked by a travel agency in Vietnam. The hotel was clean and there was a desk staff member that spoke some english. This hotel is about half way between town (Chau Doc) and Sam Mountain so when we went to find a place for dinner, we discovered there are no taxi's in town.||||The first room we got, the air conditioning wasn't working. After about 5 minutes they changed our rooms without a problem. Both rooms were clean and quite. Hot water was plentiful but there was no english programming on TV. Breakfast (which was included) had about 10 choices, the usual noodle soups as well as the usual bread + jam + fried egg.||||When we stayed in November, the hotel seemed about 10% full.

This hotel is frequented mostly by tour groups so thus we were here as part of a tour group. It is an old run down basic hotel. Average adequate room size for two with a tiny bathroom with mold all around the shower. ||||The room price is very inexpensive thus the attraction with the tour groups. There are definitely better hotel choices in town. Very simple uninteresting buffet breakfast included with price of room. The staff have very limited to no english capability. ||||A particular annoying thing in this area. There was overhead loudspeaker blaring of local dialect propaganda in the streets fully heard inside our hotel room around evening time and mornng time for over an hour each time.||Don't know if this goes on every day or on certain days. We stayed only one night and it was a Thursday.

The Dong Nam Hotel, located in Chau Doc. Vietnam, is an old basic hotel that has become rundown due to lack of maintenance. While the rooms are adequate, our room had mold all over the bathroom and pipes leading to air conditioning. Upon complaining, we were upgraded to the owner’s suite as a courtesy. This was in the front corner of the hotel with a private balcony and very large. The furniture was old but made of mahogany and of very high quality. The bed was a king and the bathroom more than sufficient. We had dinner out in town and only had breakfast at the hotel. It was adequate. The only good part of our overnight stay was the fact that we were surrounded by rice paddies. There were small farm buildings and palm trees in the distance. The sunset was spectacular and I got some excellent photos of the scenery.

Stayed here one night with a tour group. Everything worked. no safe in room. quite quiet even though I was on floor 2. I prefer higher up for less street noise. It's not near ANYTHING but with our group we had a bus to go to town for dinner. Rooms were spacious and clean. Very adequate but I wouldn't think it would be a tourist destination. I would think one day in Chau Doc would be plenty

The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. They helped with directions and distances. The room had a window and the bed was comfortable. My motorbike was secure over night and there is the option to have breakfast for 50,000VND
