  Somehow Google gave my previous review 2 stars! It should have been 5 stars! This is the best live music rock bar in the Old Quarter. Awesome band with amazing musicians & singers. The best barman who makes the best cocktails in town! As a solo woman traveller, it is also a place that makes you feel safe and welcome.

  We came here on our first night in Hanoi, and kept coming back. It’s a small venue and gets busy fast, I recommend to come before 10pm. The music is great, drinks are fairly priced considering there’s no cover fee. The servers are very attentive and staff are friendly. If you like rock or disco music, this is the place to be!

  Amazing bar, great atmosphere! The music was sooooo good 😊💗 I drank beer and enjoyed the concert for 2+ hours on Monday.

  Purple Blues isn’t just a bar it feels like one of those places you accidentally discover and end up staying way longer than planned. The energy hits differently here: relaxed, a little wild, and very real. Good music, good people, and that kind of atmosphere where conversations flow easily and time quietly disappears. It’s the kind of spot where you don’t just drink… you experience the night. Definitely one of those places you remember after you leave Hanoi.

  Super friendly staffs, clean facility, good menu and awesome awesome live music played for ~3 hours. Good place to take your friends to, or better, make new ones, esp foreigners as there are a lot of them here. I went there alone for the first time on a random Thursday night, saw some others who went alone too, decided to order 1 girl a cocktail. She then went to my tables, we talk and hang for the rest of the night. Somehow we have a lot in common, and she was also into niche things im into like “Slay the Spire” (she had 900hours in it, totally mogged me), “The King is Watching”, CRPG, DnD…. and now we will add steam and prob play some coop games in the future together. The vibe is just vibing, honestly such a great place for loner or group alike. Also to my knowledge the band playing there is different from night to night, but they play mostly US/UK Rock n Pop. They also take song requests, which is great.

  Truly incredible cover bands. Do yourself a favour and sit at the bar and enjoy your time with the bartender and the locals. Beer and cocktails aren't cheap but you're paying for quality entertainment. Felt immediately welcomed.

  February 2026 - Live music Must see place for the live music lovers, specially rock. This is the only place I found with this genre. The bar consists of a few floors with a small stage on the main floor. If I understood correctly, their was also a floor with billiard. Drinks are a bit pricey compared to other places, depending on what you drink, but nothing extravagant (130k for a glass of Jameson with coke is totally correct). I was there on a Thursday night and the music vary from rock to metal. From what I understood the style change depending on the nights. I was lucky enough to be there for my favourite one! The band I saw consisted of two vocalists (they change throughout the show), keyboard, drums (they change the player mid show), 3 guitar players (they intervertes) and 1 bass player. Most of them were very drunk but that just made it funnier :) the group dynamic was great. The performance finishes around midnight. I wish it could have last longer! Ill come back if I go back to Hanoi.

  I had a great time at Purple Blues Bar (35 Đào Duy Từ, Hanoi). They feature different music themes each day of the week, which keeps the experience fresh and exciting. The vibe is fantastic, with a talented live band and singers who have beautiful, captivating voices. A perfect spot for music lovers to unwind and enjoy the night!
