We went to this café to try the egg-based kogel-mogel coffee, and it was absolutely fantastic—thick, aromatic, and very flavorful. The coffee itself was truly high quality. The place is perfect for conversations: calm, not noisy, with a very pleasant atmosphere. The café is small, but that’s part of its charm—you can sit down, slow down, and enjoy your coffee in peace. Great location, right in the very center, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy really good coffee.

Cafe Dinh is definitely a must-visit place in Vietnam for egg coffee lovers. Both the hot and cold egg coffee were excellent and absolutely worth trying. The taste was rich, unique, and memorable. The service was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you are visiting Hanoi and want to try authentic Vietnamese egg coffee.

Such a cute little coffee spot with amazing vibes ☕✨ Loved the ambience, aesthetic interiors, and the peaceful atmosphere. The coffee was super fresh and delicious, and the staff were really friendly too. Perfect place to relax, click pictures, and spend quality time ❤️. It’s hidden spot in Hanoi for egg coffee lovers.

An authentic taste of Hanoi history. Café Dinh was founded by the daughter of the man who actually invented Egg Coffee, and the recipe remains legendary. The Egg Coffee (Cà Phê Trứng) is perfection—thick, custard-like foam that isn't too fishy, balanced by incredibly strong, dark Robusta coffee. Don't be put off by the entrance! You have to walk through a narrow, dim hallway (look for the "13 Dinh Tien Hoang" sign) and head up a creaky staircase to the second floor. It’s tiny, crowded, and filled with the local "student cafe" vibe, but that’s exactly what makes it special. At around 30,000 VND, it's also one of the most affordable and authentic cups in the Old Quarter. If you’re lucky enough to snag a seat on the tiny balcony, you’ll have one of the best views in the city, watching the chaotic traffic around the lake while sipping on a velvety, rich egg coffee. The atmosphere is loud, smoky, and bustling—truly the heart of Hanoi's coffee culture. The staff is quick, and even though it gets packed, the experience of drinking coffee in a room that hasn't changed in decades is priceless. Must try: Hot Egg Coffee and the Egg Cocoa (for those with a sweet tooth).

We actually visited this place 3 times during our week and a half visit. It's hard to find of you dont know where to look. It's one of the original makers of the egg coffee. It doesn't have a strong egg taste unlike others I've tried. Very delicious rich and addicting. A great place to visit for egg coffee and there is a balcony overlooking hoak kiem lake.

If you’re in Hanoi, visiting Cafe Dinh is a must—especially if you want to try their famous egg coffee. The coffee is absolutely delicious, rich, and perfectly balanced, living up to its reputation. What makes the experience even more special is the ambience. The place feels like stepping back in time, with its old-world charm and cozy, nostalgic vibe. Tip: come in the morning if you can. It’s much less crowded, so you can fully enjoy the atmosphere and your coffee in peace.

Cafe Dinh feels like a hidden piece of old Hanoi. Tucked away above Hoàn Kiếm Lake, the café has a nostalgic atmosphere and an amazing history - it’s run by the family of the inventor of Hanoi’s famous egg coffee. And the egg coffee itself was absolutely delicious. Rich, creamy, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet, with a deep strong coffee flavour underneath the silky foam. We loved it so much and would definitely come back.

We tried the hot egg coffee, which was great and came with a cute leaf shape drawn on the cream, and the cold black coffee , which was standard but good. Sadly no sitting at the only window in the balcony, only random disgusting random men would come sit and smoke. Otherwise nice, and cheaper than most other famous cafes in old /french quarters.
