Everything about this place was a 10/10. The family running the restaurant were the kindest people I’ve ever met. The food was authentic and made with love. They even took photos for us—of me and my boyfriend—when the train passed by. This place is truly underrated for the quality you get. Definitely recommended—I’ll be back again tomorrow for the coconut coffee!

We had a lovely time at Coffee 40 & Restaurant. The owners are so friendly, helpful, and patient. We got buncha, fresh rolls with chicken, and a delicious meat bun, plus beer and guava juice. Everything tasted amazing and the experience was just wonderful. We’re so glad we stopped by! Thank you ❤️

A Must-Visit Gem on Train Street! We went twice for Breakfast and For Dinner. If you are visiting the famous Train Street in Hanoi, you have to stop at Coffee 40 & Restaurant. This was easily one of the highlights of my trip! The Food & Drink While the location is iconic, the food is the real star here. We tried several dishes, and everything was "sooo good": * The Pho: Authentic, aromatic, and deeply flavorful. It’s the perfect comfort bowl. * The Banh Mi: Perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with fresh, delicious ingredients. * The Egg Coffee: You can't leave without trying this! It was incredibly creamy and rich—the best we’ve had in Vietnam. The Hospitality What truly sets Coffee 40 apart is the amazing hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the lady owner made us feel like family. They were so welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had the best view and experience while waiting for the train to pass. The Vibe It’s the perfect spot to soak in the unique atmosphere of Train Street. Whether you’re here for the photos or the food, you won’t be disappointed. Bottom line: Amazing people, even better food. Don’t miss it! 🇻🇳☕️🥢

Very friendly people and delicious food! I can recommend the pho soup and the traditional egg coffee as a dessert. They even gave me a mandarin as a gift. So sweet :)

Had THE BEST banh mi's and refreshing lime juice, husband had a Hanoi beer. The beer was ice cold and was served by the sweetest cafe owner (Mai). She put my husband's bottle tops on the track to keep for a souvenir... Really cool! The prices here are great too but the food was AWESOME !! Simple and fresh, the rolls weren't squished in a toaster, not full of greasy mayo, just YUM and loaded with fresh chicken or beef with cucumber and carrot and fresh mint to add as you like. The chilli sauce is served on the side to add as you like and was really tasty with chilli and garlic (didn't taste like the usual chin sui sauce). Thanks Mai for a great experience 😀🙏 Oh and if it's a hot day Cafe 40 Restaurant has air-conditioning and fans 😎🪭 If you're in train street and want watch the trains in a cool spot with great local food and lovely service then come and visit Mai.... Get dropped of in a Grab car at the intersection of Phung Hung and Nguyen Van To streets opposite Drop in cafe, then cross the road and look for stairs, once on the tracks turn right and look for her little green sign. The best prices, nice food and drinks and lovely local service 10/10🫰❤️🇻🇳🫶Check it out!!

My ma and I had a wonderful time here. We stopped during the day for a quick break. The owner and her mother were absolutely lovely, drinks and food was on point. Price for the area was really decent as well. We ended returning in the evening to see the train pass by, and got amazing service. They remembered us from earlier and gave us a nice spot and we got to get our bottle caps.

The shrimp pho Was very delicious!! And must try their egg spring roll with their homemade sauce, perfect combination. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. For hot drink try out their orange cinnamon which was perfect for a cold weather at night.
