This will be a great experience if you’re visiting Hanoi. Just beside the Cathedral is this amazing coffee shop called “The Running bean”. Great coffee, great matcha. The wild mushroom fettucine is a must try. I wish I could try more of their dishes. The staff is friendly and well mannered in every sense. The vibe is just perfect. You won’t even feel like this is in Hanoi. A must visit place for good coffee. Try the Coconut Cloud Matcha if you don’t believe me.

such a lovely brunch spot. we got the mushroom toast and big bacon toast to eat. both of these were so so delicious. we got an iced americano and strawberry smoothie to drink which also did not disappoint. not only is the food here amazing, the staff are so lovely and attentive. they are very friendly and greeted us with a smile. the restaurant is nice and air conditioned and has a lovely atmosphere - well spaced tables if you want a break from sitting on top of people🤣 cannot recommend enough

From the moment I arrived at The Running Bean, it was clear this was not an ordinary café or dining experience. Having travelled extensively and worked in the mining industry on a strong income, I’m no stranger to premium restaurants, quality service, and high-end dining. I genuinely do not mind spending money on exceptional food and drinks — but I can honestly say that very few places have impressed me the way this venue has in Hanoi. The food here has consistently been on another level. After more than a dozen meals and drinks, not once have I left disappointed. Every dish arrives beautifully presented, full of flavour, and somehow tastes even better than it looks in photos — which says a lot, because every meal here has been worth taking a picture of. The drinks deserve special recognition as well. From fresh honeycomb served with beverages to incredibly refreshing coconut and matcha iced drinks, the attention to detail is outstanding. Everything tastes fresh, premium, and thoughtfully prepared. One mistake I made was not realising sooner just how incredible the venue itself is. The building spans approximately 3-4 stories with a stunning interior design that immediately stands out as modern, clean, and sophisticated. The atmosphere feels welcoming without trying too hard, and the level of cleanliness throughout the venue is 5Star. What impressed me equally was the professionalism of the staff. From the moment I sat down, service was immediate and attentive, with water already at the table, staff highly organised, polite, and genuinely accommodating. The hospitality here reflects a level of care that many high-end venues around the world still fail to achieve. This has easily become one of the standout dining experiences of my time in Hanoi, and without question I’ll be visiting the Ho Chi Minh City location next. If you appreciate quality food, exceptional drinks, beautiful presentation, and world-class hospitality, this place absolutely deserves your time.

So much love for The Running Bean! Everything about it feels intentional, from the cafe’s aesthetic to the interiors to the drinks and dishes. They are all beautifully designed. We came as a big group so we got to try a variety of dishes, and almost everything we ordered was good. It’s all visually appealing that I found myself hesitating to even take a sip or dig in at first. The Tiramisu Gelato Waffle was my favorite for it had that right amount of sweetness. Easily one of my favorite cafes we visited in Hanoi! 🌟

It's a worthy coffee shop next to the big church. The staff were very nice, and the place is quite spacious, with multiple floors. They offer a wide variety of drinks, including some special options made with green rice. The matcha was excellent, and the signature drink we tried was delicious as well. It is worth trying because they also serve food. They have specialty coffee from both Vietnam and other countries, different kinds of premium matcha, and even their own kombucha. Overall, I highly recommend it, not only for drinks but also for a full meal.

The restaurant is spacious and beautiful. The restrooms are clean and well maintained, which is always a plus. The food is decent flavorful and well balanced, though not particularly outstanding. Prices are reasonable, not too cheap but definitely not expensive either. What really stands out is the service. The staff are incredibly friendly, energetic, and attentive, making you feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout your visit. The only downside is that parking can be a bit challenging. However, the location is excellent, right near Hanoi Cathedral, which makes it very convenient and easy to find.

Beautiful interior. Honestly, the food is great! Most tasted marvellous except the zucchini pasta 😅 However the waiting time is wayyyyy tooo longgg. Food was served in odd intervals.. mains were served 5-10min before drinks, and zucchini pasta took an extra 30min after the aglio olio was served..(??) then desserts took another 10-15min to be served. 😭 Overall, picture worthy and food is yummy. Just take note as the waiting time.
