We did the short tour straight after the typhoon, everything was fantastic with Buffalo. Ďo was our team leader and he was great, explained everything in perfect English. A great team leader. My driver Sùng was so kind and helpful to me, he made the trip so enjoyable I had the best time. He went above and beyond to ensure my safety and that I had a good time. An incredible driver I felt very safe the entire time. Thank you everyone!

I did the Ha Giang Loop with them and I had the best time. The accommodations where pretty good. The food was great also for vegetarians. I always felt safe and secure with my driver. Quy was just the best driver ever 🫶🏼🙏🏼

Had the best experience doing the Ha Giang Loop with Buffalo. The drivers are all very responsible, safe and so friendly! The group of people we were with were great too. I can’t recommend enough! We upgraded to private rooms which were great! Swimming pools at most places we stayed was an added bonus! Special shoutout to my driver Duong, the best group leader! 🇻🇳❤️

Stayed at Hanoi Buffalo Hostel for 2 nights and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best hostel experiences I’ve had in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The location is perfect — right in the middle of all the action, cafes, street food, nightlife, and major attractions, yet the hostel still feels comfortable and organized. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with recommendations, bookings, and local tips. As a traveler, that really makes a difference. The check-in process was smooth, and the overall vibe of the hostel was very social and traveler-friendly. The rooms and dorms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the washrooms were maintained properly. One thing I really appreciated was the atmosphere — it’s easy to meet fellow travelers here without the place feeling too chaotic. Breakfast was good, common areas were lively, and overall the hostel gives great value for money considering the location and facilities. If you’re staying in Hanoi and want a budget-friendly place with good vibes, clean rooms, and an amazing location in the Old Quarter, I’d definitely recommend Hanoi Buffalo Hostel. Would happily stay here again on my next Vietnam trip.

I couldn’t recommend this tour more! I previously completed the Hà Giang Loop several years ago. My second time doing it with Buffalo completely exceeded my expectations. The easy rider made the journey smooth and safe. The accommodation was very cosy. The food was excellent. Over the course of the 3 days I got to see and do loads and they were very friendly with the happy water.

I did the 4 day / 3 night trip Ha Giang Loop Trip with Buffalo and I can really recommend doing it. I had Panda has a driver and he was such an amazing driver. I always felt very safe and had a lot of fun. The Homestays are nice and the food is amazing. In the evening there is always happy water and karaoke, which is a lot of fun. I‘m super happy about the experience and had an amazing time!

I had a very good stay overall. The breakfast is excellent with nice options. The social atmosphere is great, making it easy to meet people, and the staff provides very good service — friendly and helpful. The room, however, could be improved. There aren’t places to hang towels or clothes to dry, which is inconvenient. The curtains also have several broken hooks, and the shower could use some maintenance as well. That said, the bed is comfortable and the bedding is clean, which is very important. With a few small improvements, this place could be even better.

I can not fully recommend doing the Ha Giang Loop with Buffalo Hostel. They make the easy riders drive 160 kilometers on the second day (both for the 3 and 4 day trip). It’s super dangerous and stressful for both the easy riders and the guests. They recently changed the itinerary to this wider route. Easy riders are forced to overtake other groups and cars. My group and I did not feel comfortable on the second day. Please consider changing the route to a more relaxed and safer option. Thank you and all the best
