Such a lovely experience at Silver Hostel. Originally planned to stay for two nights but ended up staying for three nights, was really easy to plan and they were super cool about it. Eugene is absolutely fantastic, one of the kindest souls I’ve met whilst travelling. Beds are big and comfy too!

Wow. I’m used to hostel hopping and I’ve been to so many hostels but this is probably the best one. I don’t usually write reviews but it’s so good that I had to—like for this price I would expect way less, but the beds are so wide and comfy, AC feels so nice, the curtains give you complete privacy, there’s a place to put your water bottle and two outlets to charge your phone and something else…after a tiring day I feel so happy to just lay down here. I am so happy to be here right now in this bed and I had to write this

I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels across Vietnam, including Hanoi and Da Nang, and I can honestly say this is the best one I’ve found. What matters most to me is cleanliness and a calm atmosphere, and this place really delivers. The room is very clean, everything smells fresh, and it’s quiet, which makes it easy to relax and sleep well. There are no bad smells at all, which is something I unfortunately experienced in other hostels. In Hanoi, many of the hostels I stayed in were dirty or had unpleasant odors. In Da Nang, some places were not clean, and in others the staff were not very helpful or friendly. Here, it’s completely different. There are two lovely girls managing the hostel, and they are always kind, welcoming, and ready to help. They genuinely care about the guests, and you can feel it. They made my stay much more comfortable. For this price, the quality is amazing. It’s clean, peaceful, and very well managed. After staying in many hostels, this has become my final choice. I’m really happy I found this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean hostel. My name's Nikolay)

The room was beautiful, quiet, and very affordable. You can rent a room for around $4. The bed was comfortable, though they charge 20,000 VND for a towel. The location is excellent, inside the market and close to Beer Street, with many restaurants nearby. Diep was very kind and allowed us to check in early. She also helped me book a bus ticket!

I stayed at the Hanoi Silver hostel again on my last visit to Hanoi. I love this little hostel, it feels like home. And what can I say about Daisy!?! She is amazing. She does everything to help. She told me about the best places to visit, best place for ice cream, banh mi, coffee... She even organised my tour to do the Ha Giang loop. Whenever I come back to Hanoi I will come to the Silver Hostel!

We were in the little room (4beds). We booked this one thinking she will be more quiet. Wrong! I don't know about the dorms, but the tiny room is really loud, you can here the receptionist, the music from downstairs and the road. Also this room is really wet, we didn't have the A/C so ours towels never dry. And every stuff become humid. Beds are OK for me, really comfortable and clean. But if you have problem with ants, maybe don't go there because they are everywhere (also in bed). About the bathroom, we don't why but they have big bag of trash in it, flowers in the sink so you can't really use them. Service : the staff is really nice, here to help you, help you to book good activities with good prices. But in the night they are on their phone, on tik tok or you tube sound ++++ :) not really nice if you want to sleep. You wonder why the rating is so high? You have to put 5 stars to have a towel free, I know we have different culture, sometimes is hard to adapt, but in my country this is really not good. If you can live with that, go ahead, it's really cheap!

The toilet door doesn’t fully close , there is a huge gap any one can see the person inside it specially the shower area, at Dorm C if I am not mistaken about the name. Thank god there was no shampoo so I didn’t take a shower before I notice the door gap!!! It’s a mix dorm!!! I don’t get why this place price always high maybe because the bed box this is the only thing is good there. I’m sorry the staff are nice but this is place not more then booking office to grab more backpackers to sell them tours if you are looking for one. No shampoo no shower gel. The whole place doors dose not fully closed and it’s located inside Indian restaurant and hard to find the hostel name just one floor no proper place to sit. Also if you booking 4 bed dorm prepare your self to use the toilet at the reception area only one toilet for each dorm which has 10 beds or more, don’t be fooled by the sinks area it is at the pass-way no hand wash nothing.

I’m not really sure how this hostel has such high reviews. Firstly, the hostel is above a restaurant, which is fine but I walked through what felt like quite a nice restaurant with my bags. The restaurant also stunk of BO.||The staff working on reception and in the hostel were LOVELY! They did let me check in an hour and a half early which was super helpful. I checked into the 4 bed dorm. The room was kind of a make shift add onto the reception area, which is fine it didn’t bother me. There is no bathroom in the room so you need to use the one in reception which has a shower also. Otherwise, they allow you to use the bathrooms in the other dorm rooms - because none of the rooms lock. You can walk from the street, through the resturant, up the stairs and straight into your room. I ended up going into all 3 rooms because the one in reception ended up being out of order. The bathrooms in both dorms were absolutely disgusting. They had what looked like years of built up soap scum and mould on the ceiling as well due to poor ventilation. In saying that, there was hot water and soap and shampoo provided.|I don’t think the hostel really looked like the photos at all but it was satisfactory for the 1 night and for the price, however I would’ve liked my things to have felt more secure. There were small cupboards under the beds which looked like you could potentially have your valuables in here but they had special locks so I imagine you’d have to pay for those. I just never left anything of value in the room.|The beds were bigger than your standard hostel bunk bed but they’re not doubles so don’t be fooled by that. They are what I’d refer to as a king single.|The sheets were mostly clean and you could tell they had been washed, however there were a few old stains on the bedding. Nothing I was concerned about.|There were no ants anywhere that I could see as someone previously mentioned.||Something to note for female solo travellers:|I was in this room with 3 others. 2 older males and an older female. I wasn’t there long enough to socialise too much, but there was only one other person who seemed to be the same/ similar age to me. To me it seemed more full of locals, but this could’ve just been my experience.|While I was trying to goto sleep, there quite a few people that kept coming into my room that weren’t sleeping in there and turning on the light and playing with the air conditioning and then going out again. This was a bit frustrating but it was early. There were a lot of people in reception. I’m not sure if they were guests socialising or if they were friends of the workers, but it was quite loud for awhile. You can hear everything from the 4 bed room. However, after about 10pm it quietened down.|They also lower a door down in front of the restaurant so you are secure for the night, but when I tried to leave in the am I had to wake the security guard who’s asleep in reception to let me out.||There was a suspicious smell that appeared in our room and I think it was due to something being cooked in reception, but it smelt like the toilets or sewer and a lady in my room complained and they bought in a diffuser to help but put it right under my bed so I ended up inhaling what smelt like toilet cleaner and coughing myself awake.||Overall I think for the price it’s not bad, but you can get better, cleaner, and free breakfast for the same, or very similar price. I’d say it’s good if you just need a cheap night somewhere. I’ve stayed in 3 hostels in Hanoi and this is the last of the 3 I’d recommend, however I could’ve just had a worse experience than most. Again, staff are LOVELY!! So so kind and just want you to enjoy your stay.
