I loved this hotel. The staff were very helpful, attentive, professional, and informative. My room was very clean and nice and cool before I walked in, they have the AC turned on 24/7 to keep the room comfortable. I also loved joking around with the staff; they were really good-natured about it. One important thing to remember: because it’s located by Hoan Kiem Lake, the road is closed from Friday at 7:00 PM until Sunday at midnight. If you don't want to walk a distance to get to your hotel, just make sure to arrive earlier on Friday. There are so many activities to try nearby, like massages, city tour buses, or just walking around the lake. I’ll definitely recommend this place to any of my friends traveling to Hanoi in the future.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely stay here if I visit Hanoi again. Service is amazing and the staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was ready even though we checked in early at around 11am. The receptionist shared with us a list of attractions and personally brought us to our room. The bellboy would always open the lobby door for us with a smile and handled our luggage with care, even helping us to load it on to our Grab when we checked out. The hotel was also running a 40% off offer on their massage during our visit. The masseuse was good and would check in with you if the strength applied is okay. Worth checking out as the price is competitive after the offer and it was good to have the convenience of doing the massage within the hotel. Hotel location is excellent. It is located on a quieter street within Old Quarter and next to Hoan Kiem Lake. The only downside is that soundproofing is not perfect. In the morning, we could hear other guests talking when they walk pass our room. However, it was still acceptable and did not spoil our stay.

Nice hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter. The entire staff from the front desk to bell people to breakfast servers were outstanding – they all went above and beyond to make my stay thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel itself is nice albeit feels a little older/as if the rooms could use a bit of a refresh. But they were very clean – housekeeping does a wonderful job – and designed nicely, and incredibly spacious. The included breakfast was good with a varied selection, including a decent pho and lots of fresh tropical fruit, as well as an omelet station. The walkability of the hotel is fabulous. Right in the heart of Old Quarter and plenty to do. Since it’s so busy in Old Quarter, being a female solo traveler I felt comfortable walking around on my own even at night (although I did not stay out late). Spa was nothing special arsthetically, but I had a great massage with one of their therapists at a super reasonable price. Overall solid choice at a good price point. Could do a little nicer and newer hotel in Old Quarter for a little more, so can weigh your options and preferences. This hotel was great for me. I believe it was a good value for what you get, and I would recommend it, as well as give 4.5 if I could!

Very nice Family room. Pleasant place. Nice location. Breakfast was honestly marvelous. Beside the buffet that was already great with a selection of fresh fruits, butcheries, bread, dumping and a selection of Vietnamese delicacies and meals we were pleasantly surprised by the offer of eggs on demand (scrambled, fried, omelette etc ...) and more important Pho soup that was freshly made for each guest. I would definitely recommend it. And on top of that, the staff at Breakfast is amazing.

We stayed here 3 years ago and rebooked for June 2026. Super good communication from Annie and they organised an airport pick up and drop off really well. They even sorted our Visas for us. Both times we stayed two nights then away for 2 nights in Halong Bay and back for a night. The location is a great base close to wonderful massage places such as 1990 spa and food places and also grab seems to find it ok.|They have a sister hotel L Signature with the rooftop restaurant Luna which is a nice spot for a night out. Special thanks to the lovely door staff that go out of their way to help you, especially to the guy that took alot of interest in New Zealand (kiwis). We had two different rooms on our stay and the 2nd option on the 4th floor was better, less view but a better room and shower. thanks for the nice stay

The Imperial Hotel is an absolute treasure of a hotel. It is perfectly located in the Old Quarter, I n a fairly quiet street and set back from the street so that as soon as you walking the foyer it is cool and quiet. I am writing this from my room and it is virtually silent. The room was very spacious and very Clea with an excellent bathroom. |The staff are absolutely wonderful; always welcoming, always smiling and always helpful. They speak excellent English. Special mention of Linh, who was particularly helpful. But every staff member was wonderful. |The breakfast (included) is awesome with a very big selection of dishes and terrific coffee. The prices are very reasonable and top value. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hanoi and I can really recommend The Imperial. I will be back.

Appreciated the great location, which made it easy to explore the city. The staff were attentive and provided excellent service throughout my stay. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room; it was quite dusty, and the bathroom did not meet my expectations in terms of hygiene. Additionally, I noticed inconsistencies in room layout and amenities, even among rooms in the same category. Overall, while the hotel has its strengths, there's room for improvement in cleanliness and consistency.

Hanoi was our first stop on a 3.5 week journey through Vietnam. We spent a total of seven nights at the Imperial and truly enjoyed our experience there. The entrance is kind of hidden behind a Banh Mi cart and a ATM machine. The decor is lovely and rooms are very nice, big and a charming decor with nice city views in the Old Quarter. It is located within 5 minutes of Hoan Kiem Lake. Breakfast buffet was very nice and offered an a la carte option for various egg dishes. There was something for everyone's taste and coffee was delicious, too. We cannot thank the staff enough, everyone was so helpful and friendly. We particularly would like to point out Anna at the reception desk. She was extremely helpful with booking a tour for us. We also checked out one night for an overnight cruise at Ha Long Bay and were able to leave our bigger suitcases at the hotel until the next day when we returned for another night. Overall, we would very much recommend this hotel. Most attractions are in walking distance or a short Grab ride away. And last but not least: not sure if we were the only guests that knew about this (we never saw anyone up there) but we discovered this small roof top area on the top floor right next to the Spa, and enjoyed a night cap every evening when we returned from dinner - great view).
