Five star rating for everything! The 11th floor lake view room had an amazing view and was comfortable, good night’s sleep after a long day, breakfast was a good thoughtful spread, carefully curated with great flavours. The location is very central and there were earbuds in the room for the night Market noise!! Which didn’t bother us. A special word of appreciation for front desk staff and the restaurant staff! Polite and very hospitable. We shall be back again. Soon.

The hotel was brilliant, rooms were great, very friendly staff who couldn’t do more for us. Located right in the middle of old town it was ideal for seeing the sites. The hotel has a nice roof too bar but it was too hot to sit out on when I was visiting, but the views were fantastic Most importantly the hotel had good AC, both in the rooms and the lobby! I would say the elevators could do with some sort of AC, but that’s my only negative. The breakfasts were good, a good choice of foods and good quality. All in all I would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Hanoi. Two thumbs up from me 👍👍

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. The facilities were excellent, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, making our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. The room was comfortable, clean, and provided everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The location was another major highlight, offering easy access to nearby attractions while still providing a peaceful environment. Housekeeping did an excellent job, and the cleanliness of both the room and the common areas was consistently impressive. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. They were warm, friendly, and always willing to assist with a smile. In particular, the Manager on Duty, Hannah, was exceptional. She listened attentively to the feedback we shared and immediately took action to address our concerns. More importantly, she ensured that we left the hotel feeling happy and valued as guests. Her commitment to service did not end at check-out—she continued to follow up and extend her assistance even after we had left the hotel. This level of professionalism, care, and genuine hospitality is rare and deserves special recognition. The only area where the hotel could improve is value for money. While the overall experience was excellent, the price was slightly on the higher side compared to what was offered. Nevertheless, the quality of the facilities, comfort, cleanliness, and outstanding service made for a memorable stay. Overall, I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thanks to the excellent team—especially the Manager on Duty—we would certainly consider returning in the future.

Booked through Booking.com There are things I really liked and some things I just wish could be a little better. Liked: For $80USD/night I think it was a great deal Location really central, literally across north part of lake, close to all may restaurants and shopping Common area well maintained, clean, feels elegant Service was excellent including Louis the bell man that took such good care of me, all the staff were super friendly. Rooms were clean and had all necessary amenities. Included Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety including fresh made chicken Pho and the skyline views were cherry on top. Didn’t like/need improvement: Walkway to my room had several old abandoned mattress stacked? Rooms were nice and clean but pretty small, not much extra walking area Not sure this is considered “5 star hotel” in Vietnam by in my opinion would be more like a 3.5 star level. When checking out, the staff “forces you” to open your Booking app and click 5 stars. I understand good reviews are important and I give them often. However I felt coerced and uncomfortable. You should still let the customers write the reviews personally and without pressure. Overall I really liked the hotel and staff and would consider coming back but please don’t force me to write a 5 star review, I will decide by myself. Thanks!

Great hotel with amazing views. Our room was large with a very comfy bed and quiet considering we were on the 5th floor overlooking a bar. The shower was roomy with great hot water but it did have a little bit of mould. Breakfast was absolutely delicious but unfortunately couldn’t linger as we had to depart. The bruschettas were delicious as was the yoghurt. Staff were friendly, attentive and overall we enjoyed out single night stay.

Brilliant location by the lake and surrounded by many shops and restaurants. There is a luxury feel about this hotel an we paid a really good price and the service we received was amazing ! The facilities are amazing, especially the views from the pool, restaurant and roof bar which again felt very luxurious. The staff attentiveness and friendliness is second to none. They always offer a helping hand and big shoutout to Hannah and Lucky especially! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone choosing a place to stay in Hanoi 🫶😃

Best overall value in Old Quarter – no construction noise, great breakfast and views with hospitable staff! After many hours researching 80+ five-star hotels in Hanoi, we finally chose May De Ville Lakeside for our own five-day stay and future family group tour. I visited other properties but it is well managed with a team of hospitality professionals. May De Ville Lakeside genuinely offers the best value for money we found. Why we loved it:• No construction noise or late-night parties, rare in the Old Quarter• Welcoming, multilingual staff that delivered genuine Vietnamese hospitality• Prime location, walkable but peaceful to the lake. Everything outside the front door, restaurants and shopping with a great in-house spa.• Scenic rooftop bar and a rooftop pool, perfect for relaxing before our late-night flight• Affordable spa indulgence• The buffet breakfast overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake was the best we had in a month of Asian travels with Mr. Richard readily topping up our coffee. Mrs. Hannah was most perceptive to resolve one issue but all staff are proactive to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.Tips:* We initially booked a “Deluxe Internal Window” on first night which was suitable for short stay but moved to a Premier City View room for four nights that was great. But be careful: many of the cheaper “lead-in” rates are for rooms with only an internal window (no outside view). * Read the room features carefully before booking. Great sunset views from rooms ending in 07, 05 and 03 on west side.* Trust reviews from the booking platform you normally use and consider becoming a member for better benefits.Overall, this hotel ticks all the boxes. We would happily stay again and will return later this year with our large extended family of four generations.Only complaint was Price Match policy where we could have saved money to spend in the Rooftop Bar ;-(

May De Ville has truly become our go-to hotel whenever we visit Hanoi. We first stayed here 2 years ago, and ever since then, we’ve loved coming back because of the wonderful service, great value for money, and the amazing breakfast they offer.||The breakfast spread is honestly one of the highlights of our stay. They have a wide variety of both hot and cold dishes, and for travelers, having a good breakfast in the morning really makes a difference. Everything is fresh, delicious, and well-prepared.|A special mention to the restaurant manager/supervisor (I unfortunately forgot his name). He was also there during our stay 2 years ago, and what we truly admire about him is how genuinely caring and attentive he is towards the guests. He is not someone who is just being sweet to tourists for show you can really feel that he sincerely cares and takes pride in looking after everyone. That kind of hospitality is rare and very much appreciated.||We would also like to thank Andrew from the Front Office for being so helpful and attentive throughout our stay. This time we had a split stay, and he perfectly understood our needs and organized our luggage collection and laundry without any mistakes, even though we had quite a few arrangements. We are very thankful for his professionalism and care.||Thank you so much to the entire May De Ville team for always being so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We will definitely continue staying here whenever we come back to Hanoi.
