A truly amazing experience staying here. All the staff were lovely, accommodating and so helpful. Perfume is one of a kind. Highly recommend getting to know her and her family ❤️

I have had the best experience staying in this hostel. I cannot recommend more. Perfume the owner has set the bar very high for other hostels. The place is good value for money and food is so good (Perfume's pho is the best). Hospitality was incredible, I felt home. It's family run business and if they make you feel like you are part of their family. Perfume thank you so much you are an amazing human being and you are one of the reasons I want to come back to Vietnam ❤️

Perfume and her family were amazing, they did everything to help us without requesting anything back. They informed us about everything. They let us even take a shower without charge after our checkout and they were very helpful about guiding us through the city and things to do in Vietnam. They were very flexible with our chicken and check out and even our second time last minute booking. The breakfast was amazing. Had a lot of varieties and the portions were huge and always served with extra fruits. The hospitality and the way they were with us was amazing. With the rooms I wasn't a big fan but they were clean and spacious and to be honest we didn't really spend time in our rooms so we didn't care. The location is perfect. Close to everything and honestly it was the best choice. For us, living with good people is more important than anything else and the combination with the food the location and how quiet is was at night was amazing for us. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you don't plan to spend all your time in the room. If you want a hotel with pool and just staying in the hotel then this is not the place for you.

When I first arrived in Hanoi, I stayed at HFM for two weeks before settling into the city and moving into a long-term flat, and I honestly felt right at home from day one. Perfume and her family welcomed me so warmly and treated me like their own daughter. They always made sure I had a good breakfast in the morning, checked in on me when I went out at night, and made sure I got home safely. They even upgraded me to a bigger room than the one I had originally booked. HFM quickly became my second home in Hanoi, and I’ll always be grateful for the kindness and care I received there during my first weeks in Vietnam. I will definitely come back whenever I’m in Hanoi again ❤️

Incredible hospitality over the course of 7 nights. Perfume goes above and beyond to meet the needs of the guests, including providing recommendations and helping organize day trips (we did the Cao Bang loop). Highly recommend to anyone visiting Hanoi who wants an authentic and lively home stay in a great location of the city. The guests were a mix of families and backpackers

This place was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and taken care of. I stayed here with three of my friends for 5–6 nights, and honestly, we all wished we could have stayed longer. What truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff go above and beyond to help with anything you need, whether it’s recommendations, transportation, or simply making sure you’re comfortable throughout your stay. They genuinely care about their guests, and that makes all the difference. The location is also fantastic, right next to Train Street, walking distance of Beer Street and the Old Quarter, and a quick Grab ride to West Lake. It’s the perfect base for exploring Hanoi in my opinion. A special mention has to go to Perfume, the owner. She is one of the kindest, most genuine people you will ever meet. Her hospitality, warmth, and dedication to her guests create an atmosphere that feels more like staying with family than at a hotel or hostel. She also helped arrange the Cao Bang Loop for our group, making the entire process so so easy. Not only was everything organized quickly and smoothly, but she was also able to secure us an excellent price. What impressed me most was how much she genuinely cared about making sure we had the best possible trip. It’s rare to find someone so invested in their guests’ experience. If you’re planning a trip to Hanoi, you have to stay here. I will be returning!! This accommodation was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We arrived as guests and left as friends. You won’t regret staying here.

We stayed at Perfume's Cozy House twice and would happily come back a third time. Our first stay was nearly two weeks right after landing in Hanoi, and Perfume made it feel like home from day one. She's genuinely warm and goes out of her way for guests — she even invited us to a home-cooked dinner. The place is family-run and she sleeps near reception, so there's always someone reachable and it feels secure. She's also invaluable for onward travel. She arranged a cheap, convenient bus to Cat Ba for us. Coming back through Hanoi on our way to Laos, she sorted our bus to Vientiane and saved us a real headache — she knew the Cau Treo border doesn't issue visa-on-arrival and got us a proper Lao visa arranged for the next day. That kind of local knowledge is worth a lot when you're crossing borders. The rooms we stayed in (in a building ~50m from reception) are spacious, spotless, and everything works — AC, hot water, fans, no issues. The location is the highlight: a few minutes' walk from Train Street, but unlike the Old Quarter it's quiet at night. You get genuine local atmosphere — a neighbor's bird sings and occasionally says "Xin chào" or meows like a cat — with real privacy and friendly people around whenever you need anything. Reasonably priced, clean, quiet, and run by people who clearly care. Highly recommended!

The hotel is located conveniently close to the train street and the food street area. The hosts is very flexible in terms of check in and checkout times. We had late check in and late check out, and she was very accomodating about it both the times. The breakfast was delicious with generous portion sizes. The rooms are very dated. The first room that we were in did not have windows. The second room was spacious but still dated too. While this had windows it was still dark. If you are claustrophpbic, definitely not a good idea. They also provide additional services. I requested 2D1N trip to Halong Bay, was promised connecting rooms with balcony on the boat, only to find out half way through the cruise that I was sold LanHa Bay Bay trip instead with rooms that weren't connecting. I don't know how that happened, but she took away a big part of our trip and I learned a valuable lesson: when something is too good to be true, it really is. She apologized for it and refunded $40.
