  Beautiful live music downstairs drew us into the restaurant - a small band of 3 with a talented lead guitarist. We went on a Thursday night and sat in the air conditioned rooftop. We were the only people up there. Beautiful food, drinks, and really friendly staff. I recommend this venue to to anyone looking for a more relaxed atmosphere.

  I stopped by The Son Bistro on a rainy day and ended up really enjoying the experience. Sitting outside gave it a nice atmosphere, and the platter with Nem Lui was a standout for me. The craft beer was also a nice bonus and felt like good value. It’s an easy place to settle in, have a drink, and watch the world go by.

  Perfect spot for dinner, especially as someone visiting from out of the country (U.S.) The place has been in the family for generations and the restaurant has an open patio that gives street views accompanied by live music. The physical menu was so helpful with pictures and helpful descriptions for many meal options that were new to me. Food was delicious, fast and service was great! Quang was the name of my sever and he was attentive but not over-bearing. He was friendly and kind. I was immediately seated, and was able to pay within a minute of requesting and was on my way. By all metrics for a local restaurant with a comfortable vibe, this place was a 10/10!

  Great food! Best Cau Lau and Bun Cha of the trip. Rose wantons were amazing. Great atmosphere and service. Waiter was very good and funny. Highly recommend. Upstairs is a bit quieter than ground level.

  Really nice and small restaurant! It’s actually inside a vintage heritage home. The service was great and the food was fantastic! Downstairs is all open air but upstairs has AC, it was a hot day and they brought us upstairs and we were the only party seated there. It was nice and quiet and everything tasted so fresh!

  A friend of mine found The Son Bistro on Google Maps, it’s highly rated, almost 5 stars with lots of great reviews, so we decided to have dinner here. The food was really good and suited our taste, especially the grilled skewers and fresh spring rolls, everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned… We chose to sit outside because it was airy and comfortable, perfect for chilling, enjoying the food and drinks, and watching the street life go by. We also ordered drinks, and honestly didn’t expect much at first, but the Bell Passion Fruit craft beer was surprisingly good and paired really well with the food. Quang recommended these dishes for us, he was very attentive and helpful 🙌

  Really enjoyed the food here. The noodles was really good. We also ordered chicken skewers, it was good but I felt very less quantity. Our server Hoanct (Vi) was really nice. The staff are very friendly. Good location.

  Raining heavily so we were looking for a restaurant close by. Saw that this place had quite good reviews so decided to try. I was intrigued by the Spaghetti Carbonara so decided to try it, along with a Beef Pho. Also, decided to try the local specialty Cau Lau for the first time. The Pho was less frangrant than some that we have tried, but the beef was very nice and the amount of beef was generous. As it was the first time I had had Cau Lau I do not know what it is supposed to taste like, but it tasted good. The Carbonara was surprisingly good. I personally like my pasta a little firmer than Al Dente, this pasta was a little soft but still okay. Taste wise it was not as good as the Italian restaurants in melbourne but most of the way there. Portions were on the small size but as it is a bistro this is sorta expected.
